Resonance of Fate is really really hard

To all RPG gamers out there. ROF is such a great game. The battling is so strategic and difficult it will keep you on your toes the whole time. If you think standard RPG battling is too easy (like myself), and want a serious challenge go strait to Resonance of Fate

Difficult as in enemies are challenging and you'll have a hard time winning with a faulty strategy, or difficult as in "holy crap this battle system is overly-complicated!"? I expect a learning curve from the game, but I also hope it's not ridiculous. I can handle game difficulty, not so much frustrating battle commands.
