ok, from what ive heard, theyre botht he same thing except retailer version has mic, and downloadable doesnt. retail costs $60 (source: gamestop) or $70 (this site) and the downloadable version is $20. think the headset is worth the extra $40-$50?Magic_Sea_Otter
Well in Canada I'm getting the game for $40 w/ headset at BB. Such as sweet deal.
the headset is worth the extra $40-$50?Magic_Sea_Otteryes
retail for that headset is $40 at bestbuy.com
i thought the download was 40 bucks and the blue disc warhawk with head set was 60 bucks?munsoned
They are and the headset is worth the 20$ if u don't have one, but I do. But I don't have a credit card so I guess I'll just have a ps3 dedicated headset
Well I just checked FutureShop.ca & BestBuy.ca. FS = $69.99 & BB = $39.99 CAD.
If I can pick it up for $39.99 retail, I may do it. Having it installed on your HD & not needing the disc in my PS3 is convenient though. It makes Warhawk more of a pick-up-&-play/spontaneous game (to me).
As i've said before, nothing beats having the hardcopy of a game, so im buying the retail version.
and here is why: first of all, YOU HAVE TO SNIFF THE MANUAL!. Second: nothing beats a nice box with a cheesy describtion on the make going "this is a war, and you're fightting it, in over 2000000000 multiplayer maps" and so on. im don't even CARE about the headset, people say it will be crap (it works even better than any of the things they have in their house, i'll bet money on it) .. but just, having a hard copy of a game, and being able to put it up next to all the other games, is the best way to say "look, i've bought all games for the PS3 so far, and you're a poor guy, so you don't qualify for anything". lol. but yeah.. Getting the retail

I'm definitely buying the game online. As a Steam addict, I really appreciate being able to boot a game from the desktop (XMB equivalent). I hate loading games in and out of my PS3 just like I hate doing it on my PC in those archaic games like Battlefield and Quake that require it. Since this game is only 800 MB according to the developer and even when uncompressed it sits directly on main memory, not the hard drive....I can't imagine fumbling with a stupid Blu Ray for $20 extra.
But if I didn't have a headset I'd go for the retail. ESP since it's coming out two days earlier. (I am still pissed about that)
