Well ive played a couple hours of RR7 and if you like a good looking fastpaced racer that is totally non realistic then its your game. Burnout would be my pick open world owns.

Yeah since they removed my favorite features from the previous games ( split-screen and crash mode ) it was a dissapointment for me, also not being able to restart races by the press of abutton is also annoying

Try out the demos yourself, they are both on the ps store. I'm going to go against the crowd and say get RR7. Burnout Paradise isn't the best in the series (I'm not a fan, but the open world isn't for every1), and besides the open world, the gameplay is identical to teh last gen's burnout games. Find out which burnout game was the best (xbox/ps2) and get that 1 for a cheaper price. Burnout Paradise definitely has more features than RR7, but RR7 has a couple of great things that Burnout doesn't: SPLITSCREEN and no open world. I found RR7 WAY more fun than Burnout Paradise, because once you get past the "OMG CRASHING LOOKS AWESOME" phase in Burnout, it becomes a bit bland. RR7's drifting is just as exhilarating as the speed of Burnout. Although I'm usually against the crowd, the fact is that Burnout Paradise is just a rehash. Half of the people who posted probably haven't even played RR7, and are probably basing their opinion on the reviews and the games' graphics more than anything else. Get RR7 if u can get it below 30-40$, it'll definitely be worth it, moreso than the non-splitscreen-burnout-rehash. But, again, try out the demos first, and see what's ur sty1e of gameplay.

I flipped a coin, Ridge Racer heads, Burnout tails.

Even the coin agrees with everyone. You should get Burnout

I own both, both are great when taken in context as to when they were released. That's the kicker though Ridge Racer is a launch title, Burnout is a current title. Burnout is an amazing example of what the PS3 can do with current dev kits, get that!

I bought RR7 for $14 off Amazon the other day. The demo seemed fun enough as far as arcade racing goes. I've had Burnout since it came out. Awesome game, its my first in the series though. Buy Burnout, pick up RR7 used.
