Two minutes into a movie and i get the YLOD, i was wondering if there is anything i can do to at least get my movie out, its passed warranty i have had in since 06? I plan on buying a PS3 slim soon also and am wondering if they are in fact releasing a Uncharted 2 bundle or should i go ahead and buy the 250gb one? This is the first time i have ever had a problem with it as well and plan on putting a friends HDD in it just to make sure its hardware issues and nothing with my HDD. Also is there anyway i can get any of my save data off of the HDD if its okay? does it fit into the slim?

I heard about the Uncharted bundle, but I'm note sure if it's been confirmed yet.

You could try to fix it yourself. There are videos on youtube that can guide you through.

I think there is something you can do to eject the disc, but I don't remember what it is, hopefully someone will chime in. No bundles have been confirmed for North America, so either wait and see or just get one. To save the data on your old one you'll have to take it out and put it in an external enclosure, thus turning it into an external harddrive so you can access what's on it. You can put it in the slim but I've been told it will reformat it as soon as you do.

Ok, figured out how to eject the disc: turn the console the console off from the back, then hold the eject button as you turn the switch back on. It turns on the fan test and should spit out the disc.

EDIT: sorry apparently that only works on 40GBs

yea i tried the "fan test" anyways even though i read the same thing. also i do not have the tools here at college to do fix it myself and ive never heard of those fixes lasting real long. if they released a 250gb. ps3 with uncharted 2 do you think it would be $350 or $400?

Considering the price in Europe is 350€, i'm guessing it would be $350.

turn the system on, leave it in stand by mode, and hold the eject button for a long time, you'll hear the blu-ray drive, and the disc should come out.

right now i am planning on buying a 250gb. this weekend and keeping my 60gb. i will bring that home over break and try the ylod fix to get my movie out and back-up my save file then keep it and leave it at home seeing as i only hear the fix lasts for about 3 months of use before you need to do it again and i dont want to keep doing that. now ill have one at home at least when i come home for breaks! i needed to upgrade my HDD anyways seeing as i was at about 15 left and christmas coming up probably would have taken all of them. with game installs. so i guess my 60gb. is just going into part-time retirment hopefully. only thing though is i kind of want to wait and see if they release the bundle within a week or two and get it then otherwise no big deal.
