R.I.P Call of Duty??

Do you think that Activision has officially "ditched" the brand Call of Duty?

In other words, Do you think that there will ever be another game with the title "Call of Duty"

*By the way, I know that Modern Warfare 2 is still technically still Call of Duty

I think there will be another game called Call of Duty but if other games like Killzone don't stop bitting off this franchise there might not be much the next game will have to wow everyone.

COD still offers the best multiplayer experience over all other FPSs.Mr_Splosher

While it may be a highly favored multiplayer experience it is not necessarily the best. I am not saying it is not "The Best", I am sure there is enough quantitative evidence to prove that millions of gamers love Call of Duty 4, but I think in terms of gameplay experiences the best is always subjective.

Personally, I think Killzone 2 has a far better multiplayer.

I think they'll do what GTA does.
They 'll base the numbered games on the generation of (program?) they use to make the game.
For example: GTA 3 was "part 3" because it used the next gen of game engine. Then there was SA which wasn't GTA4. GTA didn't get a "4" beside it until it moved on to the next game engine.

So for now we get COD MF2, and WaW. They're more put together versions of COD 4.

Lets just wait and see what IW is doing with this one. If even they think the call of duty format is outdated, then we can't really argue with them.

Cod has become like a fricken sports series one a year, and I think it's going to be a mistake.

I think that they wanted to start a separate series because CoD 4 was so successful, but they wanted to keep the actual CoD series a WWII series. I imagine the next CoD will be another WWII one, so don't worry.

yea that could be it but they made COD4 without WWII and it was the best of the series (accept COD2: the big red one MAYBE) i say they get rid of WWII cuz they killed it in 3 games (along with medal of honor and all the rest of the bull crap titles) they need to explore other wars/conflicts like.... NAM!!!

I doubt WWII titles will ever go away as long as people buy them. CoD has nearly killed MoH, and does anyone know when a new MoH is supposed to come out, I just recently got into the WWII games so they haven't gotten repetitive to me yet, but I guess it's probably just a matter of time.
