Rock Band 2 will have trophies. And even if you are not a fan of the trophy system, it is good to see other games beside offcal Sony ones getting achievments, like all the X360 games are getting.
I like Guitar Hero alot more than Rock Band so I am gonna have to pick Guitar Hero 4 :). I am keeping an eye out for Rock Revolution though it looks like it has the potential to be alot of fun.
When RB2 launches, there will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 500, including all the DLC, songs available to play on it. When GHWT launches, it will have maybe a fifth of that.
I think Rock Band 2 and GH:WT will be equally good. Some will prefer RB, some will prefer GH:WT. You should listen to all the songs in the setlists of both games and then decide which one you like best.
Personally I prefer GH:WT's setlist (about 55 songs have been confirmed as of yet), also the new guitar looks better than RB's guitar, so I'm probably getting Guitar Hero. Plus Rock Band 2 won't come out in Europe until christmas or something, so I'm just getting the whole GH package and maybe sell my drums when RB2 comes out and buy that drumkit plus 2 cimbals.
I'm having a terrible dilemma between these two. I just bought GH3 a month ago and the guitar bundle. Now I seem to be leaning towards Rock Band this time, ARGH!!! But from what I read was that there will be a Tool track in GH:WT. So I will want to see whether what's true or not.
I loved guitar hero ever since it came out, then i got rock band and loved it just as much...sooo...i think im just gonna get both games since all the intruments will be compatible with each game..so yea..GET BOTH...woo..lolz
i spent about a year playing guitar hero everyday, yeah sad. I bought rock band earlier this year and i just dont like it near as much as GH. The RB guitar was horrible, even with the tapping buttons, and the drums started hurting my left wrist for some reason, probably the crappy layout of the RB drums
Guitar Hero IV, the drums already looks leaps and bounds above RB, as does the guitar, and not to mention how huge having a song creation mode is..americahellyeah
Add to that the midi interface and RB2 can't compete at all.
I don't think people realize this should allow you to connect a real instrument and use it (as long as it's midi equiped)
