I played both of them recently on the wii and I am thinking of getting one for the PS3. The problem is I had more fun in the little time i played the game with GH, because I felt more like I was playing the key notes on the guitar than on Rockband. However, I hear that people say rockband has much more songs and user comfort.

So I am taking it to the people which one should I get.

I was also thinking of getting Dj Hero and get a side guitar.

personally id take rockband as there are sooo many new songs to download (in fact they recently passed the 1000 song mark!) and the guitar hero store is pathetic in comparison. Although both games can present a challenge on expert mode I find that guitar hero is slightly more difficult than Rock band, I play both games on expert drums and guitar and can pretty much get 95% + on allmost all songs. As with the note charting I feel that rockband actually does a better job as one of the ways that guitar hero achieves that higher difficulty is by charting in extra notes that dont seem to fit with the songs to artificially make it harder to play.

So all in all Rockband is my choice, (and being a Beatles Fan my favourite music game of all time has to be the beatles rock band)

I prefer the visuals in Rock Band (style), the setlist it comes with and the amount of dlc available for any version of RB you have. Thats a key factor that sort of hurts GH.

I, personally, hate the Rockband guitars. The strum bar is pretty messed up, in my opinion. I would rather have less songs and a guitar that I can actually use well and enjoy using.

The Rock Band 2 guitar is the best one ever made, imo. GH guitars make too much noise. "Man this song is gonna be awesome!" CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK Just watch any YouTube video of someone play GH3 to see what I mean.

I owned GH.WT for about 3 months and ended up trading it in for RB2. I have around 300 songs on it and once RB2 got boring I started playing real guitar.

The guitars all work on each other's games now. No worries.

I find Guitar Hero to be much better because at the end of the day it's more challenging. The song structures on Rock Band are overly repetitive and are often times even more boring to play on the game than they are in real life.
