Which game series will benefit the most going from the ps2 generation to the ps3 gen ?
I ask this because I think most games seem like they will just have some minor tweaks here and there with some upgraded visuals over the last in the series.
I recently started playing a Ratchet and Clank game which I think is pretty solid but .......... I started imagining the next gen possibilites and I was thinking that this game series in particluar could improve tremendously if Insomniac puts the same kind of work and scope as they did with Resistance.It is kind of odd that I picked this series because the brightly colored art but I think it could reach new levels of amazement.
Not really a series but I think Black will definitely benefit from the ps3.
EA did a pretty good job on the ps2 but it is not as destructible as they once said. However, with the power of the ps3, Black can totally be realised.
I think any game that has seasonal itmes, like sports or F1. With the PS3, you can now update squads, get new livery, and the new teams as they change. Also, any game that will benefit from updatable content. I also think car games will benefit. Imagine after GT5 comes out, every year as new cars are built, they can be added to the game from downloads.

Gran Turismo good be a never ending game, now with the downloadable content just imagine every year you could update it and get all the new cars that came out that year, *drooools some more*

they make more money off a sports game by selling it for 60 bucks a year every year rather than a 20 dollar upgrade of an older game

I'm going to throw the odd curveball out here and say Romance of the Three Kingdoms (or really any strategy type game). We're used to seeing these games with Super Nintendo or Playstation 1 style graphics and it is time for them to bump up to the current standards. With the additional memory and power that the systems have available i want to see a truly amazing and robust strategy game that blows me away. I want PC quality.
i think the genre that will have the biggest gain is the FPS as the games are generally fun to play but the single player is really short. the blu-ray disc can hold vast amounts more than a DVD so i would like to think that the devs with little time restraints can make FPS with alot longer single players from now on
