Every time I tried to connect the ps3 to the internet by using an ethernet cord, i would get a dns error. I'm going to try using a router instead, so any suggestions on what kind to buy? A cheaper one would be good if possible.

perferably u should get a router that supports dmz (so u can easily forward ports to the ps3 so u can have the correct nat type). Other then that not much else u really need to look for, unless u plan on setting up a wireless network or something in your house.

Where are you using this PS3? Why do you have a DNS set up for "home use". If you can change/disable the DNS.
