RPGs no more?

Okay so i just put a blog up about this and it got me going so i figure i would vent my frustration to you all.

Why why are there no more RPGs anymore? Im not talking about fallout 3 and games like that. I remember spending hours, days and months playing FF7, crono trigger, ogre battle, suikoden, lunar sss and i could go on and on. I know there are a couple coming out in the near future, but geez oh man, nothing like back in the day! I know games take more time and $$$ nowa days, but has the demand for RPGs just gone down that much or is it just a safer bet money wise for companies to go down the FPS road? Im not hatin on FPS, but spread the love with all types of games please!!

yes i am joking i figured i would give you a laugh

There was already half RPGs compared to PS1 on PS2. But this year (depending on speed of translation) :

- White knight story (somewhat real time but when you're near mobs they don't move so you can decide actions)

- Cross Edge

- Atelier Iris

- Tales of Vesperia (a bit more active than WKS but you can control your characters and give orders)

- hoping for anouncement at E3 of Suikoden 6 and Breath of fire 6

- pretty sure Star ocean 4 will come to PS3 and may be announced at E3

- record of Agarest war and record of Agarest war Zero (only released in Japan now)

here are the JRPGs I can think of that are out now. not to many.

Eternal Sonata, Valkyria Chronicles (SRPG), Disgaea 3 (SRPG), Enchanted Arms

these are coming out at some point.

Tales of Vesperia, White Knight Chronicles, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy vs XIII, Cross Edge

I guess if you want a lot of JRPGs you'll have to get a DS or PSP.

Demon's Souls. can get HK version in english, like $70 bucks shippin n handlin when all's said n done. playasia is the place to get me'thinks

All you need is Valkyria Chronicles.

And perhaps a bit of Cross Edge, White Knight Chronicles, and FFXIII to mix it up a bit.

am i the only one who found the font choice extremely annoying?

I played Dragon Quest to death on PS2, it would be nice to see a new Dragon Quest in the near future.daftdog
