Umm Rumble isnt gonna break or make the controller ...good point, i actually completely forgot about that
SONY changed the PS1 controller ... the added the analog sticks which was a moajor change to the controller design ... and somehow every1 was able to cope with it - so i doubt an enchanced Sixaxis controller with added rumble will affect old sixaxis controller owners much ...

Don't worry, some firmware updates will update the 'hidden' SIXAXIS compability :winkijcwordlife
Don't u think that Sixaxis CAN rumble even now but this function is off?Platin_ghostjust so you guys know, the SIXAXIS controller does not contain the force feedback that is patented by Immersion. Immersion's patent is for rotating motors that cause the vibration. As we have seen pictures of the current SIXAXIS controller, there are no motors. So this functionality does not currently reside in the current SIXAXIS. And don't try to say that Sony will "unlock" it with a firmware upgrade. If that was the case, then they would have already done that because, without the rotating motors, it does not infringe on Immersion's patents.
[QUOTE="Deihmos"]It's not like it will be back tomorrow. I am sure it will be a year or more.DilrodWho knows? Immersion announced along time ago they had the rumble ready to go without interfering with the motion sensing. But Sony has to think about if they want to do this. How will Sony look after all their, "Rumble is last gen. Motion-sensing is next-gen"? They could easily say that they listened to their customers but that doesn't always cut it.
so is this a fact allready? and is europe getting the sixaxis (my god what a stupid name...) with rumble at launch?danneswegmanno, Europe will not have rumble. now whether this is fact or not, read this article from IGN... http://ps3.ign.com/articles/769/769390p1.html Sony signed a business agreement to incorporate Immersion software into "Playstation Format products".

Don't u think that Sixaxis CAN rumble even now but this function is off?Platin_ghostLook inside, there are no magnets. You should be able to tell by weight alone.... its obvious.

if sony reinstall rumble in their controllers they admit they made a mistake to release launch controller without it and they give reason to a lot of people including Pete Hines from Bethesda:
IGN: What do you think about SIXAXIS?
Pete Hines: I think that its value depends upon the game. It didn't make sense on Oblivion but I'm sure there are some games it does make sense on. To be honest I would rather have the rumble instead of the SIXAXIS motion stuff.
IGN: Why's that?
Pete Hines: Well, I never owned a Sony console before now. I went straight from SEGA to Xbox, with a lot of PC gaming in between. I just never really had a reason to buy a Sony console. I mean, I played on one at my friend's house but I never felt the need to buy one. Everything I wanted to play was on Xbox. That meant I've really gotten used to having that rumble there when you play a game. When you get hit or if you crash a car it's nice to have that feedback. Likewise, when you're playing Oblivion it's nice to feel the weapons connecting with an opponent, so the absence of the rumble is notable when playing Elder Scrolls.

I read a lot of posts but I don't always post... that's why I'm level 20 with a low total posts like I have. Anyway it's his opinion I personally love Sony (I own a PS3, PS2 and a PSone) but I really don't get into the motion controller I prefer a lot the rumble. If they reinstall the rumble in their controllers it's a sign it was an error to not put the rumble in the controller at launch.
