Yeah but it proves useful for PS2 users in the future or when PS3 software starts getting rumble.
I think this is their temporary solution. http://gear.ign.com/articles/773/773578p1.html
hardware is worthless if software doesn't support duel shock

i dunno, not all consumers want it, i wouldnt mind getting it back, it doesnt really affect me much, like throughout resistance i havent noticed the rumble missing at all, and i know others feel the same waywe can speculate
sony recently made up with immerson(spell) so expect duel shock to make its way back
kojima even pushing for it... Sony needs to give what consumers want.

I could be wrong, it certainly wouldn't be the first time, but I just don't see rumble coming back along with SIXAXIS, there is only room for one sheriff in town, so to speak. The motion sensing isn't perfect already, and if they come back with rumble in the same controller, it's more than likely going to screw up the sensors for motion sensing.
I definately miss rumble, especially when I play something where they use it well in a 360 game, and then I go from that to playing a PS3 game, and I feel like it should be there, and something is missing, but I have gotten over it better than I thought I would. I know though without a shadow of a doubt, it's going to kill GT5 when it comes out, to not have it, if it still isn't back. Going over the bumps and sensing how much traction and grip you have through the controller was a truly great experience, and it won't even pay to get a wheel this time around because if the software doesn't support it, it's useless.
We shall see I guess, but with probably 4 or 5 million controllers out there already that don't support it, people are gonna be pissed if they don't bring it back in the right way.
Well The people that make God Of War stated that God Of War would have rumble Hidoe Kojima stated he called the rumble guy an he is now putting rumble in MGS4 and he is gonna try to make tilt and rumble work togather also in UK they have GT:HD 2.0 and it supports rumbleshawn97203i would love to hear where kojima has said he is including rumble in mgs4. kojima has only stated he is dissapointed in rumble, he is not pushing sony to include rumble, nor would his demands really matter that much.
thats nonsense, rumble wouldnt effect moion sensoring, sony said that to have a excuse for not putting it in. bottom line rumble has been used about twice in all of gaming history. apart from those few games that have used it as "feedback" most other games have used it as a false way of shaking while shooting (which is about as immersive as putting a badger down your trousers) or shaking in cutscenes. rumble is a out and out gimmick. and i doubt they will ever bring it back. and i hope they dont, it seems unfair to those you have brought a ps3 early.I could be wrong, it certainly wouldn't be the first time, but I just don't see rumble coming back along with SIXAXIS, there is only room for one sheriff in town, so to speak. He won't say, but if he had to choose between the two, it looks like rumble would win out. His "other" idea doesn't have a nickname and a long-term relationship with the company. "Ever since MGS1 there was a specific guy, nicknamed the 'rumble creator', who worked on it for us", he says. "But he's been on a long vacation since we didn't think rumble was going to be in MGS4, so we're calling him back right now". Hmm. Long vacation sounds...ominous. http://kotaku.com/gaming/go307/feature-talkin-metal-gear-with-hideo-kojima-248695.php and in a different interview he said hes going to try to use rumble and tilt if i find that one ill edit this one.....I could be wrong, it certainly wouldn't be the first time, but I just don't see rumble coming back along with SIXAXIS, there is only room for one sheriff in town, so to speak.
