It wont be a trade off, just as the original dual shock wasnt.

Haha I found the buzzing noise to be annoying as well.
This is for you to learn, don't be early adopters
by the time i buy a ps3 most of the big games will be out, i won't have to buy a new controller for rumble (hopefully) and maybe i will pay less for it(one can dream right?)
i have come to the conclusion that sony got rid of rumble because it messed with the tilt control but now they have fixed it and i am happy
You'll also most likely have one without the EE chip inside. I'll take the chip. This is for you to learn, don't be early adopters

Ha ha! You do make a point, but meanwhile I've been playing my PS3 the last six months while your waiting to save $50-100. Also it's fun to be on the ground floor of the PS3 community. Everyone who has one is passionate about it. To me it's worth it.

And this is a note for you. If everyone wasnt early adopter we would most likely be playing the NES right now, with luck that is. Products need early adopters, should they not have it there wouldnt be new products nor companies that could sustain improvements. Sorry for this, but your statement could only come from a kids mind or a retarded (not as the illness of being retarded) mind (dont know an actual english word that would mean the same as in spanish). People, next time, try to think before posting since your lack of knowledge is not good for your personal image.
Early adopters ARE needed for everything, lucky us they exist (Im included) because I really like my technollogy, and I wouldnt tolerate having to use candles or watching black and white TV.

I agree what foolish statement. I really don't get why people think waiting a year or two is worth saving the extra $100, to me that $100 pays for the extra year I get it in "advance ".

The problem with early adoption is that 1. you aren't spending your money to further technology, oyu're spending money to get the newest gadget 2. the point that was made about early adopters having to pay higher prices for an often inferior or early version of the same hardware is valid. While it is true that the ps3s now are being made without the ee, they are also made using less than half hte moving parts, may soon cost less and may have a controller with rumble and motion sensing right out of the box. That and they get all sorts of good games right off the ba.t I'm not saying early adoption is a bad thing or unneccesary, but that it can often hurt the early adopter. Both sides have good points.
I don't know why people complained about no rumble, sure as hell didn't bother me.Flame_Blade88
Me either. I'm not sure how old you are, but older members can related to this. Remember the days on NES and Atari? There was NO rumble until when? '96 or '97?? That's what, almost 20 years prior. Personally, it doesn't bother me. Also the fact of carple tunnel in my wrists, it actually feels better without the rumble now.
Some of these people complaining about hurt hands kinda makes me suspicious. I mean how much of a pansy do you have to be for rumble to hurt your hands? Rikyfree
It's called carple tunnel. Just wait till you get it, then we'll see how much of a "pansy" you are LOL
Cause some people could have that problem. Sure others are wimps, but not all. Some of them DO have a reason. I have it myself, though the rumble doesn't hurt instantly for me, it does bother my arms enough to "speed up the process" especially in games programmed to have extreme rumble.

LOL!! I will google it :)Edit : found it
"Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve, which runs from the forearm into the hand, becomes pressed or squeezed at the wrist. The median nerve controls sensations to the palm side of the thumb and fingers (although not the little finger), as well as impulses to some small muscles in the hand that allow the fingers and thumb to move. The carpal tunnel - a narrow, rigid passageway of ligament and bones at the base of the hand ¾ houses the median nerve and tendons. Sometimes, thickening from irritated tendons or other swelling narrows the tunnel and causes the median nerve to be compressed. The result may be pain, weakness, or numbness in the hand and wrist, radiating up the arm. Although painful sensations may indicate other conditions, carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common and widely known of the entrapment neuropathies in which the body's peripheral nerves are compressed or traumatized."
Thanks google XD

rumble isnt what gave you carpal... 8===mm=D ~0 ~0
Second, how do you bring this to the market without upsetting consumers who already own a PS3, and therefore rumble-less controllers? Sony should not offer the rumble controller as an option, it should become the new default controller. All the old controllers should be pulled off the shelves. A financially expensive, but positive PR move would be to offer all current consumers the opportunity to "upgrade" their controllers for free.

I got carpal tunnel from computer mice, but even when it was inflamed, rumble controllers never bothered me.

Hey calm down mate, you don't have to be so aggressive, what i meant was valid only for the ps3
if you think that it worths 600$ right now it is your opinion but I don't and the other 90+million ps2 owners agree with me or else they would havealready bought one.
You can believe all you want that resistence, motorstorm and a few crap ports are worth the price, even bluray with it's current library but you are a minority.
At the end of the year I'll pay less, have a bigger and potentialy better game and movie library to chose from, a controller with rumble and all the updates that you are still waiting.
The industry does need early adopters but you may agree with me that sony didn't make it easy to be one launching an unfinished product more expensive than it's competition with roughly the same features.
rumble isnt what gave you carpal... 8===mm=D ~0 ~0
If that means what i think it means then, You Sir made me laugh
I for one look forward to a rumble controller. I am holding out on buying a second controller due to all the rumours of one eventually coming out.
I think the type of games you enjoy, tend to affect your views on the rumble feature. In first person shooters, its a good feature to have if you are getting shot in the back. It also help you determine which direction you are getting shot from. In racing games it helps you determine how smoothly you are driving and what terrain you are on.
Do I absolutely need rumble? No, but I really enjoy it. Those of you that don't like it, I think most games give you the option to turn it off, don't they?

You certainly like to contradict yourself dont you.? What I posted was not aggressive, it was just saying that you should state things as facts that you dont understand about. So if you would like to check your first sentence of your previous post you will notice where the "you are ignorant" statement I made came from. Look, people here doesnt have to know everything, so if I dont understand something I dont go around posting my opinion as cold hard facts.

You realy don't know what aggressive means, well then, I'll teach you with an example, you don't call someone retarded if he disagrees with you and has arguments to prove his point.
But you don't seem to consider someone else's arguments, maybe life will teach you better than I can that your opinions are not the only ones that matter.
BTW, can you tell me the advantages of being a ps3 early adopter that refutes my previous post? That was our original topic but if you had realized that you wouldn't have posted about a single sentence in my last post.

I didn't say it did. I already have it, I was just talking about the pain factor that rumble brings after awhile.
