Hmm I think your right. It would be a great addition to have. Hell besides ingame xmb and ingame music cross game chat as been the most wanted feature. I'm still skeptical though that one guy who works for home said it was still in the works maybe that was an intentional slip though.

After the clock I was satisfied everything else is just a plus.
All I want to see is an improved custom soundtrack system that works like it does on the 360, and PS2 b/c for non b/c models. Might have to wait a while for that though... :(
It'd be cool. :D I just hope it isn't people finding any reason to make up firmware rumors. :P I hope it has some good stuff in it. One thing I really want is to have the gamer level listed next to your gamertag on the friend's list and the same with your friends.
Please don't get your hopes up. As it is we're going to see tons of threads complaining about Sony saying they said all this stuff was going to be in 2.70 when they didn't. It happens all the time because a rumour starts and then people take it as fact.
That thread on GT a while ago was pretty much proven to be false.

PS3 owners dont even use headsets as it is so whats the point Maybe they will start if things like this keep happening. It is painful to not be able to do some of these simple things, it is also a pain that you cannot get to a lot of features in xmb, unless you quit the game your playing. All these little improvements (that should have been implemented from the start, and certainly before money was wasted on home) are only making the PSN experience better, and giving Live fanboys less reason to nitpick. Cross game chat, and improvements to PSN headset communication is one point I like seeing improved, as at the moment it is not really as good as PS2 was. If need be, Sony should start including a (cheap) free bluetooth headset with all PS3's sold, and games like Killzone 2 and such could have had a limited edition deal where you get a headset for $10 more than standard price.
Yeah, R2 devs (Insomniac) said that they needed a FW update in order to get their new patch working. I'm expecting to be posting about 2.70's features later.
