Rumor: PS3 in Store for Yet Another Price Drop?

Though your source looks good. I dont think it will be true, unfourtunatly. They dont seem like its due for a price drop but its possible. I think the xbox is more due to a drop then the ps3 but you could be right. gamfaqs2gamfaqs

My prediction from few months ago(and i still stick to it) is that both Microsoft and Sony will cut price close to GTA4 release date. I think MS will lead and Sony will follow. In worst case scenario there will be bundles from both of them with GTA4.

Sony has to do it or MS will take all sales boost from GTA4. Of course this is good for gamers, us.

Right, that just seemed weird when I thought about it.

i feel so screwed i bought a 60 gig ps3 for $650 with a 15% discount

but ireally feel for the ppl who bought ps3's for thousands of dollars on ebay and other places.

Good news for me. I was so close to getting a ps3 on saturday but didnt, instead i got myself a sterio amp and speakers.

I doubt there'll be another price-drop so soon for that much.

Though say a 50$ price-drop doesn't seem implausible; then follow it up with another drop of say 50$ around the 08 Holiday season and it would probably be a good strategy.

The price on these machines are low enough.

If this happens PS3 will dominate 08. All those AAA titles plus a $299 price point...come on what could be better? It's possible too considering the PS3 only costs $400 to make now so they'd only lose $100 and you usually lose money in your first 2 years of gaming production so Sony can afford this. Im not saying the PS3 needs to drop in price but if it does it will honestly be able to compete with the Wii and definately destroy the 360...G-Legend
