I dont get how people can sit in a corner and stare in a direction. Back in the day, people played to have fun. They spent there money at the arcades to have fun while playing with friends. Now, people play to watch paint dry. HOW... is that fun? You spend $60 on a game to sit still and do nothing? Come on. I know that its scary moving around and you die more when you do... but its more fun than sitting in a corner. The differences between facing competent rushers compared to competent campers... are amazing. You can get your crap pushed in by rushers. Campers, the game might move a total of 4 minutes without seeing a damn person. I BEG you... please... try using your left analog stick. TRY.. to get better. Sitting in a corner is a quick fix that will not last as the game evolves. TRY... to move.

1.) Lag trumps rushing, camping is the only alternative for some. Can't tell you how many times a slight bit of lag makes rushing the same as suicide. 2.) You just going to bust into a room of enemy combatants and hope for the best, John Wayne style? There is no respawning in real life, sometimes and tactics dictate "camping" to win wars. Same applies for video games. 3.) Get better at a game if you are sick of campers, use grenades to clear a room or soften people up at least, I know that works well in Halo and CoD for starters.

I was playing Killzone 3 the other day, and for whatever reason the match was a 3 on 2 game. I kid you not, even though there was barely enough people playing one of the players was using the sniper class and was sitting in a corner camping with the cloak turned on. He wasn't "sniping" per-se, just sitting in a hallway waiting for someone to run at him. I was like seriously WTF man. Some people are ridiculous with that, I don't get it either but usually when someone takes it to that extreme it means they are a really terrible player. I actually just sat right behind the guy for like a full minute just seeing if he would actually shoot anyone - eventually someone else came up from behind me and gave a brutal melee LOL. Then I just got out of that silly game.

Campers do it to preserve their KDR, simple as that. For me, I normally rush in, thus I got a high death ratio, but if my team is doing poorly I'll (on kz3/crysis 2) cloak up and start sniping. Although as a sniper I dont get many kills ethier, I got terrible aim :(

Not in every game, if you can go prone, camping can sometimes be pretty effective.

Only time I camp if I am defending an objective in warzone (KZ3). Other than that I am guns blazing with no regard for human life. I think my KDR is 0.7. I could careless about it. I primarily go as the Field Medic because I like revive my team members and also having the ability to stand back up when I am in the bleed out phase. Back to your topic. I never understood camping it is not like you get a prize for having the best KDR. I understand if the was real life, but this a game.

Camping is a decent tactic in some cases. Like in BC2 when you are defending a base or whatever. It's just that people need to know when to NOT camp, and actual do something else.

My friend and I are usually snipers in BC2. We were sniping (and actually hitting people) and noticed that everyone else on our team was also sniping. We realized that was stupid. We ran back, got a tank, and just drove straight to the enemy base. I knifed about 5 people in a row and my friend and I took the base.

Rushing is not better than camping and vice versa. You need flexibility. A bad camper is not going to contribute much points to the team, but on the other hand a bad rusher is going to cost your team a lot of points. I dislike campers who camp when it makes no sense. And I dislike rushers who rush in stupidly and die and give the other team all kinds of killstreak bonuses.

Also, on a side note, it is dumb to complain about campers when you are playing objection based games like domination. You are supposed to guard the objectives. Its hard to win when everyone rushes around like chickens with their heads cut off and ignores guarding the objectives.
