So I just picked up Rage when I was offered it for half-price with my copy of BF3. I have to say that this game runs smoother than any game I can remember playing and has great graphics and a relatively large gameworld. In order to run this way, there is a large install of around 10/15 minutes when you first start up the game then, when moving through certain parts of the gameworld, there is a short loading screen to load up that section.

My question is this, would you happily allow all gaming companies this amount of loading time in order for your games to run just as smoothly and look just as good? Or, are you too impatient to go through that with all your games and would prefer short loading times with the current standard of visuals and frame-rates?

I for one would love all games to run so smoothly and wouldn't mind that sacrifice. Can you imagine the fallout games running like what Rage does? Too amazing to even think about!

I want a choice, so far the only game which has had it is Tekken 6, personally I dont mind a 1 off 10-15 min install (I know GT5 did it) and have stable frame rates.

10-15 minutes isn't that long, so I wouldn't mind. Konami should have thought of that before making MGS 4. Having to wait an extra 2-5 minutes after every chapter ruins the flow of the game.

I don't mind large installs at all - that's what I got my 500 GB drive for. I'd much rather put the game in and go do something else while it installs, rather than have to wait for extra loading time throughout the entire game.
