Saints Row 2 VS. GTA IV

Saints Row 2 looks amazing. But then again so did GTA IV but that was a major disapointing

Lets face it, ever since San Andreas GTA has been walking backwards. GTA IV had so much hype but if you ask me it really wasn't a groundbreaking game. As for a 10.0? I think not. It deserved like a 9.2. Point blank GTA IV had better graphics and physics but other than thatI didn't find anything truely special about it other than an unusually short however intriging story. I think the reason so many people stuck up for it was because GTA's long lived name and the incredible hype put our expectations over the edge. I think Saints Row 2 looks awesome with the customization, we kind of tapped into this with San Andreas and Saints Row really brought out the best of it.

But my personal view of GTA IV is this, Rockstar went from the usual Funny/Unrealistic/Booming GTA style and tried there hand at a new Realistic Dramatic game. I think they did good but it should have been its own thing, it just didn't feel like I was playing one of the classics such as my Personal Favorite Vice City.

It looks like Saint's Row is better at being GTA than GTA is nowadays. I'll probably be buying this since it has airplanes and parachutes, two of the best parts of San Andreas.

GTA 4 was...ehhhh...okay. But Saint's Row 2 looks like it has the goods that keep you playing the game for years, ala San Andreas. I never played the first SR, but part 2 looks like the spiritual sequel to San Andreas, since GTA 4 went in the opposite direction.

Imo, Saints Row was better than GTA IV, Saints Row 2 is going to be amazing! I view Saints Row as the new 'old GTA', if you get what I mean. GTA IV was good, but it didn't give me what I was expecting from a current gen GTA game, Saints Row did and Saints Row 2 is going to multiply that by 10!

In GTA IV there were definetly some things that i wish were different. You dont really need planes though since you wouldnt exactly be able to land it anywhere in a city but it would of been cool to bring back the dodo. I wish that instead of the blackhawk with miniguns that they would of brought back the apache or alteast given the blackhawk rockets since the miniguns suck.

They also should of let you use a station that would play the songs you have on your HDD. The music in IV was just as bad as SA to me with only a couple of decent songs. I loved III's original music and VC was great with the classic 80's.

SR2 though looks closer to a PS2 game than a PS3 but the highlight of it for sure is all the awesome voice actors. VC and SA had some high talent voice actors which was awesome but then no one really famous in IV was kinda a let down. Sometimes i cant even understand some of the characters in IV.

GTA IV also had the same mistake that III had where once you got a few thousand basically you had infinite money since you could never spend it on anything.
