I need help. I'm trying to get my ps3 running on a friend's samsung LE37A457C1D through HDMI, and I get lots of fuzzy black outlines a round large areas of a similar colour. I bought this HDMI cable yesterday, it's brand new, gold plated and everything. Can anyone help me with this please?

It only does this while in HD, all SD signals work fine.

Could be a faulty HDMI cable even if it's new.

Nah, even when the HDMI cable isn't connected, you get this same distortion on the "check signal cable" notification.

I'm pretty sure it's the TV. Does anyone know if there are any settings to get rid of this.

Maybe the TV is overdoing contrast and brightness. Cycle through the different preset picture modes (Vivid, Custom, Cinema) and see if the picture improves.

I have a Samsung plasma and my PS3 running thru HDMI and my picture is better than real life. Check your settings or try to find your receipt.

What about the PS3 settings? Is it set on HDMI?
