@papermario: San Andreas isn't even my favorite GTA game. Vice City was better imo. As far as impact I don't think SA had nearly the impact GTA 3 had. GTA 3 was the game that changed the industry, SA was just more of the same but "bigger and better."

no vice city isn't better that's a fact

Opinion != Fact.

vice city is the better game and gta 3 was the industry game changer. totally agree with that bit.
what i dont agree with is that sa was bigger and better than vc. bigger yep. better nope.
i think of sa as a jack of all trades, master of none but still an essential part in the evolution of the series. bursting at the seams with a variety of content and mini games wildly varying in quality and glued together with an often non-sensical story stretched wafer thin to facilitate that variety, it was the antithesis to gta iv's subdued and overly serious story driven tone.
the ballad of gay tony was the game which struck the balance between story and audacious gameplay just right. and gta v just massively expanded and built upon that blueprint to become the true worthy modern day successor to vice city. imo of course ;)
@Macutchi: I was using 'bigger and better' as a phrase, not saying SA was better than VC, that would have been conflicting with my first statement.
I meant it more as 'bigger world, better graphics, more vehicles, more cities, more well known actors, etc'. Even with all that still didn't hold a candle to VC.

yeah i did notice that contradiction lol. poor phrasing ;)
@Macutchi: Shhh, I'm not perfect! :P
well apparently it's a fact that san andreas is better than vice city so our opinions are all wrong anyway ;)
How dare you have an opinion that aligns with mine! How can we argue like 12 year olds on the school yard playground now? Screw this I'm going to System Wars!
*pukes*
Ok, couldn't say that without getting sick yet.
SA is the best in the series Imo. It's also a bit more unique, like how many games do you get to play as a broke, black gang banger? The game has a lot of things in it that's been ignored in the series since...like burglarizing homes, sex mini game and even eating fast food to get fat. It was comical to run around as a fat man at times.
Vice City is a pun of Miami Vice show which featured an over exaggerated 80's pop culture.
