okay. So Ive been reading. I guess some games you can copy the saved files and they work. Other games, like skyrim, i believe dont work which sucks for me but oh well.

Actually, as far as I know you can use any USB Stick, you just have to make sure it contains a Folder which is named PS3 or PLAYTATION3. Not sure how exactly to name it, but it has to be all capitalized. PSP works with the same system and some subfolders like SAVEGAME, MUSIC, VIDEO and so on too, don't know though if the PS3 folder has to include similiar subfolders, never tried it. But it works with MUSIC for sure.

Nope no way possible. USB sticks are good and all for saving files, but some games won't allow trophies (because that save file is under a different ps3 name) or just won't allow to copy save files at all onto a usb stick.

I kinda want memory cards back.

I dont care at all about trophies. i just wish i could use the saved file. Right now all I can do is play where i am currently saved, but I can never save again.

Yea, I don't understand why they don't at least have the option for memory cards.

i dunno man, sony's got really weird about a lot of things gaming wise.. ever since gameshark sold a device that could hack games years ago they've been limiting our options, its obsurd.

When you buy a USB key it's usually already in FAT32 format. Portable hard drives come in NTFS format and need formatting to FAT32 to be compatible with PS3. Formatting storage deletes everything.

You will not be able to transfer. Some saves are locked to where you can't copy at all. Some saves are also locked to a specific machine or profile. Your only real solution is to start over.
