Saw The Game - Screenshots Revealed + Interview [UPDATED TEASER TRAILER]

Based on the blood thirsty horror movies, Saw The Videogame has finally revealed some screenshots. All information below.

"This evening B-D reader 'JayKah' just sent us a heads up to the first ever images for Konami'sSaw: The Video Game, which is said to be hitting retailers (PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) this October to coincide with Lionsgate's release ofSaw VIin theaters. 'Saw' has grossed over $600 million worldwide and sold over 16 million DVDs, so we felt like it was a great opportunity to align ourselves with one of the most successful horror film franchises in history."Combining action, puzzles, mystery and terror, the game will have an original plot that ties into but is however not entirely adapted from the films. The gameplay is focused on the unusual traps serial killer Jigsaw likes to rig for his tortured victims. You take control of a character in an asylum who has to decide whether and how to solve the puzzles and save Jigsaw's victims."'Silent Hill' is more about psychological terror, but 'Saw' for us is more about graphic, intense horror that overwhelms you. Have you actually sat down and watched any of the SAW movies? Just asking. They don't really deserve all of their bad rep IMO. The first SAW at least is a pretty tame film as far as most R-rated horror movies go.

Anyway, I'm interested as to how this turns out. Any new survival horror title is good by me and this is being developed by Konami so the pedigree is definitely there. Apparently they want to do with visual horror with SAW what Silent Hill does with psychological horror.

personally i think the game could be pretty good. the plot of the movies is pretty twisty so it leaves room open for a side plot or something like the game without interfering with the "canon" of the series.

Not being a fan of the movies, I think I'll be sitting this one out...

I agree that Saw 5 was terrible. It was just squeezing the last breaths out of an already dying franchise. For me the films should have ended at 3.

It's interesting to see how this will turn out, I don't think I've ever played a horror game that actually made me want to look away! I just hope Konami put their experience to good use, and that the story is better than the last 2 films.

Each saw movie has done something for me

• Saw 1.Started it all and it was really different from any other thing out there.
• Saw 2.Had the best catch phrase ever"Oh yes,there will be blood"and I loved the story
• Saw 3.Had a weak story but the brutal traps made up for it.Simple,yet violent.
• Saw 4.Well not much brutality,but the back story for jigsaw was pretty good.
• Saw 5...Sigh....Saw 2 rejects come together to learn the importance of TEAMWORK and a predictable dumb story mixed in with recaps of the other 4.Awful.
• Saw 6.......Oh boy,lets hope it is better than 5....Although I highly doubt it
• Saw the video game.....Might be good if it has the charm of the first film,and Konami's hard work mixed in.

I fear that saw six will be just as bad as five.The whole thing with saw 5 was that "You will not believe how it ends"Yet as soon as the damn movie started I knew how it was going to end.......And how the Jigsaws ex will probably take over the killings at some point.Like I said,it should have stopped awhile ago.If the people who made saw can make a good movie like Death Sentance why on earth can't they let Saw take a break for a few years.It almost reminds me of the Madden series,a new one every year but it only seems to make little improvements or none at all.Ok rant over.K1LLR3175

I loved saw 1-4.I hated Saw 5,it was horrible.Now this game has me interested alittle bit.But I am afraid that it will be a flop,just like Saw 5.......just like Saw 6.The series should have ended by now.Saw 5 was the perfect example of when a series runs out of steam.And this Video game is probably not going to do much good to the already dying series name.K1LLR3175

Graphics are similar looking to Half-Life 2

I don't really know how this is supposed to work. The only thing I can see is some kind of Sim, like Theme Hospital, where you can design traps and combine them and put guys with very differen character into different rooms. Any infos on Gameplay? Because if you aren't Jigsaw, I hardly see a long Game nor a Game you like to get through more than once :S

edit: Not to mention the fact that things tht r common in films are often frowned upon if in a videogame, intence violance, sexual references, drug useect. Mostly refering to the intence violance one.

ehhh it seems kina lame, i can bet the controls will suck, amongst other things, i can only imagine myself running down a generic coordoor but having trouble doing it because they barrowed the walking controls from ResE1 to add the fear factor
