If this guy somehow impedes GOW 3 in the least, copyright infringement will be the last of his problems.

Sounds like it's the plantiff's fault ... never, ever send your idea to a movie production company, book publisher, game developer, etc. You get into all sorts of problems. Instead, send your resume...get a job there, and then mention your bright idea. Many places specifically ask you not to send them ideas for this reason. The cost of figuring whose idea it was is higher than coming up one by themselves.

Odd that this news is being reported so late...Google doesn't turn up any recent news about it... But I hope it gets thrown out of court...

Yeah, I didn't look at it that way. Probably Sony has the advantage if they don't ask for those ideas. The most is they may be forced to hire this person to make this all even out, without Sony having to pay 1/3(exaggeration) of the GOW profits or w/e.

I think kratos saved Athens from Ares himself not from his army (he had an undead army but they were meh compared to him).

People that can't achieve something in life are the ones that sue for stupid copyright infringements.

Also if they sent a story, it automatically belongs to Sony.

Waste of a case lmfao people love getting money. This is all a M$ ploy to run sony out of business, get people to sue them over anything and if they dont win they still get M$' money lmfao (jk can i tak about conspiracy theories?):?G-Legend
Huh? :? According to the article

GamePolitics has learned that SCEA and David Jaffe have both been sued in the US District Court in California for alleged copyright infringement over the God of War franchise. The suit was filed in February by Jonathan Bissoon-Dath, "the author of a series of related works of fiction, including Olympiad," and Jennifer Barrette-Herzog, creator of Island at the Edge of the Living World. The two allege that they sent their work to Sony Pictures in 2002. They note that God of War shipped on PS2 in 2005, and David Jaffe said that the game took three years to develop.

Where the hell did you get Microsoft out of that? The dude lives out in California. Or are you just trying to pull something out of your proverbial ass here? Anyway, it definitely sounds a lot like someone at Sony basically took this idea (likely Jaffe) and re-tweaked it in order to make God of War. As for why it took so long for this guy to figure out... :? your guess is as good as mine. I know I'd have looked into it a lot sooner.

hmmm, I bet it happens a lot. The time line is suspicious but I would have to view his story. It doesn't help it was sent to Sony Pictures and it was a Sony 1st party title. Either way though at least we know they can't be sued for God of War 2 or Chains of Oly......unless this guy sent it other scripts (which maybe he'll claim he thought of them and Sony read his mind and stole his ideas).
