My 42" HDTV blacks out sometimes when I'm playing the PS3. Usually once ever hour or less, it goes black for a couple seconds before coming back. It's annoying.

Common PS3 problem or tv problem? TV's 2 years old with not much use. HDMI video input.

I have this aswell. I thought it would be a faultyHDMI cord but I dont want to spend money to test if it is.

I have had this happen as well, and usually when it really counts (MW2, I'm looking at you!) For me, the solution was to make sure I am using a quality HDMI cord. I had a nice Philips HDMI that word great (HDMI 1.3), but I broke part of the terminal and it stopped working. So I bought a cheapo HDMI expecting same performance. Now I get this black flickering now and again, like the TV is trying to detect the PS3 but cannot momentarily.

Anyone got a good recommendation for cords? If it's the cord, then I'm happy because it's not my PS3.
