I have an HDTV back in the states, but I'm in no place for a big HDTV where I am now. Nor is it worth it to buy one now since I'm only going to be here for another 7-8 months.
What is the point of owning a PS3 if you play it in Standard? Blu-Ray would be the same as DVD, none of the beautiful games, it would stink. HD 1080p all the way.
well you have to play the new ps3 games on something. i know they're better on a hd tv but if you have a sd tv and want to play ps3 games you have no choice. just because people have sd tv's doesn't mean they should only play ps2 games.
i have a sd tv and still enjoy the games very much. i know the graphics aren't as great but they are still better than ps2 games on a sd tv. i will be getting a hd tv soon though :)
Playing on SD is just fine but, for complete HD experience it is required to have a HDTV. Just take your time on saving money and purchase the best HDTV you can afford.
I've playing my PS3 on a fairly new SD T.V. using a S-Video output and I think it looks pretty crisp . At first the sound on my PS3 was playing in Mono using the Red and White composite cables but I fixed that problem and it sounds great now. I'll eventually buy a HD Television but for now I'm very pleased with my 27" Citizen .
HDTV for me. I used to game on an SDTV but I got tired of not being able to read text so I bought myself a new 32" Bravia 720p for my room. I'm the only one in my house with an HDTV :P
Both of our PS3s are played on HDTVs. For those of you still using SD TVs, be careful when you do buy HD.
There are quite a few of the 2nd tier manufacturers whose feedback on their HD sets, indicate that 1/3 to 1/2 of the people who bought them have problems. Serious problems.

What kind of problems? Do they have mental breakdowns or something? :P
my cousin had a 15 inch SDTV connected to the ps3...seriously guys...dont even try to play MGS4 in SDTV...you literally cant read the letters when you pick something up, the font is so...jagged, it looks as if it would be painted with crayons...its extremely bright and blurry to read... I remember that I sadly finished dead space on SDTV...it really looked like a PS2 game...
i'll admit, its not as good as a HDTV but anythings better then an standard TV.

It's the same technology. I guess it's not as good as an HDTV because it doesn't have a TV Tuner built in? Yeah, a monitor is just a TV without the TV tuner and speakers...
HD. 50" Panasonic G10 = drool worthy. Great picture, no motion blur, essentially zero input lag. Highly recommended.
I have played on a standard definition TV before and it looked ok too I guess. You just can't play multiplayer games properly because you can't really see people since everything is a bit of a blur.
mostly SD because my ps3 is in my room...sometimes i would play on an HD monitor in the fam room but I hate having to keep moving my ps3. Planning to get an HDTV for my room anyways probably this holiday season
I prefer to keep SD. Sure HD is great, but I like obsolete equipment better. If I had enough money to spare, I would obviously get one. But for now, I'm fine. All the games look great, and Widescreen games don't give me a problem on my old box.
