Seeking good PS3 games

People write a post like yours every day. You really should try using the search function.

The PS3 is still relatively new and if you took the time to check out the release line up for the next 3 months you would see a lot of amazing games are coming out. Don't just go by what you see or read about, the PSN works very well and you could download demos of games released and coming out so you can make a more accurate opinion on them.

Of course something like the 360 or the ps2 will have more games because they have been around longer. In due time the lineup will be more defined of course.

I own FNR3 and Oblivion for 360, im not too much of a fan of Motorstorm (although ive never played it other then the demo) and with halo 3 a month away, I dont feel Resistance being a good buy for me.

Well i hate to break it to you, but I'm not a troll, and how could i be if I'm not putting down the system? 50+ games may come out, sure, but with every other system and a high end PC those 50 games become the few exclusives. It says nothing about my taste of games, and no offense to PS3 fan-boys , but if a game is multi-platform (and a simultaneous release) I will buy it for the 360, simply for live, gamerscore, connection with friends etc. Basically I filtered through the releases of games, viewing either intriguing titles, or viewing games in a genre that i enjoy playing and there was nothing that really reached out and grabbed me outside of 2 longtime favorites. Sorry.

I don't see how looking for an educated ps3's gamers standpoint on upcoming games, features, DLC etc makes me a fanboy, as far as i can tell I'm just a person interested in a PS3 for reasons other then two games, but unfortunately have not been able to find that reason my sifting through release dates.

ratchet, uncharted. haze, ut3, HS, Lair, GT5 prologue. These are a ffew of the games, all heavy hitters in my eyes.

Im not comparing it to other consoles, I was simply stating if it was multiplatform i would buy it for 360, and why. It had nothing to do with better, or worse. Just a prefrence. And the fact that i would buy a multiplatform title for 360, makes the lineup a little lighter.

I know that other people cant justify the price, but they can show me things that interest them, and may interest myself as well.

I asked if I was missing something, and was hoping to be filled in on something that i had overlooked. That's all.

I think your just trying get more post, or trying to get some sort of recognition for trying to fend off an alleged fanboy so that some cyber friend of your will give you a pat on the back. Long time MGS fan, played em all from the NES to the GC and im real excited for MGS4, however im not a ps3 owner. I figured "eh sony should have a decent lineup other then MGS to make buying the PS3 worth it, hopefully a few anime games." I didnt see any game moderately interesting comming out, other then FF of course. Am I missing something? Where are the games :? look dude i own both the 360 elite, and a ps3, but most of the games comming out that are multiplatform i will get on the 360, well all the shooters anyway seems they work a little better with the 360 controller, but that being said look at games like Uncharted... thats a nice looking one.

contrary to what a lot of people say here in these forums i liked Heavenly Sword, its a good rent game.

Well, like i said, i wasnt making a comparison of the two, this isnt system wars, and im not a fanboy of any company.

And i never said anything about 360 being a heavy hitter, or being better or anything of the sort, and the reason i have it, is because it was a gift. I find its library to be lame as well, maybe 5 games im looking forward to total. I also find gears to be very dull. Online is broken, dont know how its a system seller. Graphics maybe?

I like Action RPG's, JRPG's, RTS, Adventure/Action, FPS, Sports, and platformers.

I like a good story, with immersive characters and gameplay. Basically just any game that you beat and you feel accomplished and a story that just is interesting(something like MGS) or heart-warming (something like kingdom hearts).

Like i said im not picky when it comes to games, i just couldnt find anything that made me really wanna go out and pre-order it and read as much about it as i could find like what mgs has done to me.

edit: I love online gaming too! How could i forget, but as long as its well done and not kind of like an afterthought to the game.

Ah yes heavenly sword, that game doesnt look to appealing, but i have a feeling its a game thats a lot of fun when its actually you playing.

And i looked in to Uncharted, it looks very interesting thanks for that.

I really think these threads are so silly. I would hope that you are old enough to make your own decisions. If you think that it isn't worth it to buy a PS3 beause you're only going to play 2 games, then don't buy it. You say you looked through the upcoming titles and nothing looks interesting? Fine. it seems to me that your cleary a 360 fanboy so to you i say how manny times have you got the RROD and had scratched games or games not working even thought they are in as new condition?

if you had it more then a few times i sugest the next multi-platform game you get is for the PS3 casue all those acheivments are good im sure but are they arent worth all that mutch when your console may scratch the game and the PS3 gets Home soon and thats to my knwoledge will have a better award system

I would get the PS3, and this is coming from a guy who has both the 360 and PS3. They do compliment each other nicely and offer something else. There are many many games that are coming out later this year, and into next year. Even if the games you want aren't out yet, you can always go and play some PS2 games on the PS3 to bide your time until the games you want come out. Warhawk looks to me like a game that I have to get, as well as the new GT. HS looks interesting, but I'm not sure if I'll get that or not right now. I am however looking forward to the new Socom that is coming out as that is one of the best shooter series that i have played. The first 2 really kept me entertained for many months and in fact years.

There will be games coming out soon that even you will enjoy and find impressive. Not to mention the online store games that are quite a bit of fun. Another bonus is that now I can surf the web from my PS3 in the living room instead of having to go to my computer room. It's a good investment and you even get a BR player out of it too, so you can enjoy some high def movies.

lol yeah i like other fps then Halo, I loved black, cs:s/1.6, GRAW, Red Faction ( Just saw they were making a third for PS3, Excited about that!) BF2, etc.

And i didnt say i judged by titles lol I just said i searched by catergory, as in a arranged the list by RPG, Action, Shooter etc and looked at each many of them browsing through, and if something had a cool title, who wouldnt click on it to check out? And i didnt say i didnt have an interest in any system, i said im not geared towards one system ( as in im not a fanboy and video games are simply just video games to me, theyre fun i could care less about console wars or whatever, i dont make or loose money depending on who wins so why should it bother me? )

Obviously i know everything you said, but if you like platformers does that mean you automatically like crash bandicoot? Or Jak or something like that? Not always.

But trophies in home? Care to explain what that is? ( I know what home is, just havent heard much about its features)

Ive never played socom, but ive heard alot of good things about it, when is the third one comming out? And if i borrow 2 from a friend, i should be able to play online still right? W/ Headset and all?

it seems to me that your cleary a 360 fanboy so to you i say how manny times have you got the RROD and had scratched games or games not working even thought they are in as new condition?

if you had it more then a few times i sugest the next multi-platform game you get is for the PS3 casue all those acheivments are good im sure but are they arent worth all that mutch when your console may scratch the game and the PS3 gets Home soon and thats to my knwoledge will have a better award system

you should allso look fot games like Folore if your into anime inspired RPGs

i agree with the 360 haveing more better games atm but all the cases of RROD have made me choose PS3 over the 360

Ive gotten 1 RROD back in Feb. of 06 but it only took a week to get a replacement, and consoles only scratch games if something vibrates the system or if you move it while the disc is spinning, and why would any responsible gamer let that happen? lol

And i dont play for achievements, its just kinda something that adds an extra hour or two of gameplay. Where i go to school, nobody except for maybe 2-3 people i know have ps3, and about 70 other people i know have xbox 360. So i would basically just have it 360 so i could be connected with my friends while playing so we can chat, or play online, or cross-invite, or compare games and whatnot. Just small simple stuff, I wasnt trying to say it was the definitive choice.

And the fact that none of my friends have a ps3 i cant really check it out or get a feel with it, so i dont really know what im getting when i buy it. but like the other guy said, im sure even now or down the road they will compliment each other niceley when the (hopefully) more exclusives get thrown into the mix.

I am guessing you like games that are coming from Japan. So how about games such as Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5, The Last Remnant, White Night Story, Final Fantasy Versus 13, Brave Arms, Chian Limit, Second Season, Killzone 2, Castlevania: SOTN (Masterpiece game now downloadable), and Folklore. I know some of them are multiplatform but you have to buy them on Playstation 3 or you 360. As for the rest they are going to be playstation 3 exclusives. Some of them which are going to be a big hit if you ask me. Love it or not, you may not like the games coming out for Playstation 3 but that doesn't mean you should be disappointed on it. The Playstation platform is known for bringing a variety of games for gamers like us. Look at the Playstation 2 library! It is likely that Playstation 3 will happen the same. As history is already repeating itself.

The PS3 is still relatively new and if you took the time to check out the release line up for the next 3 months you would see a lot of amazing games are coming out. Don't just go by what you see or read about, the PSN works very well and you could download demos of games released and coming out so you can make a more accurate opinion on them.

Of course something like the 360 or the ps2 will have more games because they have been around longer. In due time the lineup will be more defined of course.

Wait until next year for a PS3. The price will be dropped again in 2008. As soon as they get the systems price down to $400, I'm grabbing a PS3. If you're smart, you'll pickup whatever PS3 games you want off of Ebay for cheap this holiday. They when you finally get the system, you'll have lots of games to play on it. ;)

Guys what do you think about the new Ratchet & Clank? And how do FPS's handle with the analogs, or can you use a keyboard and mouse?

Also, how well does linux work?

ratchet and clank looks amazing. Game should be a definate AAA title. FPSs are fine with the analog sticks and for UT3 keyboard/mouse is supportedMiguel16
