Seems to be little talk of Socom 4....why?

I figured a lot of people whould have jumped on it but it seems like no one is really caring.

Is the problem that it's not enough like the old Socom or is it not that good?

I guess because those most looking forward to it were SOCOM fans and this doesn't play anything like past titles in the series. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying it myself but the only thing really SOCOM about it is it's name.

Because its not Socom. They turned it into a "flavor of the month" game. Any self-respecting fan of the series would stay away from it. Like me!BrianB0422

The campaign feels even less like SOCOM than the MP. For what it's worth, it's still good but not SOCOM good.

i am glad i was never a Socom fan, because i am really enjoying the new game. It plays very well, loads of fun, looks great, and i totally love the 3D and Move support. I hear people moaning and groaning about the game when i am playing online and i wonder what is their problem.

I played the first game on PS2 and loved it, only partially played the second game and not touched any of the ones since sadly. That said I was excited for Socom 4 when I heard about it, tried out the beta and just didn't like it at all. I'm sure single player is fun but meh, beta kinda turned me off the idea of getting the game. Or at least spending my own money on it. Bday presents ftw? :P

The campaign portion is awesome, especially if you have it on Hard, because it gets really very tactical. I'm happy all of these crybabies aren't going to buy the game, because they read a review and others people opinions of it. I absolutely love this game.

No its because the socom vets like myself can't stand the game. The totally changed it, its a COD uncharted mag knockoff.

I'm a Socom vet as I have reiterated many times and I love the game. So i would speak for yourself on that one. "Oh my gosh, socom as xp points now"...get over it, classic mode is just like socom and once you upgrade your weapon you have acog sites instead of the red dot (I do agree the red dot site in this game is dumb and I don't use it, because it seems out of place.)SamuRai_JeDi

It's different so I have to stay away from it....good game or not.

I just played the single player...yeah it has a bit of cheese factor but it made me want the multiplayer really bad.

because from what I have seen and heard about it, it's not true Socom, personally from what I watch of peopl playing it I wasn't impress by it and would rather play Killzone 3 or something else online.wizdom

I kinda get what they are saying....

Reminds me of when they changed up Ghost Recon.

When they changed it, it no longer felt like what Ghost Recon really was.

So I get it. But I never really played the old Socom games. :)

Probably has something to do with two much bigger players coming out on the same day as SOCOM 4 did. Both Mortal Kombat and Portal 2 were getting much more buzz than SOCOM 4. There's only so much hype that can go around. anime_gamer007

I wouldn't worry about it's hype/sales. Unless you've never played it before you know it's going to have at least a couple hundred loyal fans worth playing until they kill it's servers.
