When I got my PS3 a month ago, I would let no-one touch my PS3 mainly because its so expensive I didn't want any scratches etc. I thought I would get out of that phase but after a month of having my PS3, I'm still reluctant to let people play, though I do let them play. I'm usually not a selfish guy, when I got my PS2 back then and same with my other consoles like N64 and Gamecube, I let everyone play it, but in the case of the PS3, its different. So my reasoning for my selfishness when it comes to the PS3 is because I spent $600 on a console and I want it to be as perfect as the day I bought it.

 So i'm wondering if other people are like this or am I just a selfish bastard(but don't say that :D)

*This might seem like a useless thread, but I have to get this out of my head because I hate being selfish*

Seems a little strange to me as technically, you only have to let your friends touch the controller, there's no need for them to touch the console.

Yeah I agree with this, if they're touching the controller only then get over it. If they're feeling you're console all up then ask them wtf they're doing.

Well, not just that, like when i'm at school, my brother and his friends (I don't trust them, especially since i don't even know them) use my PS3 and they have to turn it on, press the switch on back and then touch the power on button. Besides, who knows what they might do while i'm gone, lol. I don't know why it bothers me, but it just does.

seems silly that you wouldn't want to get your 600 out of it. wouldn't letting friends play be more fun

Yeah in that case i know what you're saying, i yelled at my house mates for turning it off at the switch, i always leave it on stand-by, she said it was to save electricity! Women!!!

I really don't want people to touch mine either, but more than happy for them to play it!

Yea, I do let my friends play, but for some reason, i'm reluctant to, its just a feeling inside, but I won't say to them "don't play my PS3," I mean, I still do let them play.

Honestly its cause the PS3 is such a bigger investment than past consoles. Your Gamecube was $199 and the PS3 is $600.. Thats your problem :P

lol yeah I'm like that too to my friends, but only because they're really clumsy with my stuff. It's my reason why I had to get a second PSP and third PS2 ; ;

Let them play and touch it so they can get some of their own. Let them play it to get rid of them wanting to play with yours, they'll have their own probably.
