Your trusty old PSP 1/2/3K gets bricked by a bad firmware update. Sony wants $170 to restore it. recently they also dropped the price of the psp go is dropped by $50 and gets a bundle with Motorstorm: Arctic edge installed on the memory. do you get a new 3000 or buy the go

Personaly, my PSP has already had the UMD drive go, and i just haven't bothered replacing it. i would be all over the Go at $200 with or without a bundle

Hmm...that's tough. I'd have to say I'd go with the go. As long as it has equal gameplay, graphics, and Internet, It's all good.

Just get another 3000 Bundle. Possibly the Assassins creed one coming soon. If I'm going to be paying 170 dollars to get my old one fixed, might as well spend an extra 30 to buy the white PSP (that I want) a new game, another memory stick and the ability to play all 37 PSP games I already own. As I see it, the GO would just be a waste for me at this point seeing the investment I've made in UMD's.

I'm sticking with the 3000. I've got to admit the go looks nice but there aren't enough games on PSN. And it's expensive and I already have over 20+ UMDs so no GO for me. I'd probably feel different If I was going to be a new psp owner Because I wouldn't have any UMDs to just be laying around that I can't play. If I bought one with all the UMDs I have now, It'll be like I'm starting over collecting games for my psp again because I can't play my old UMDs. But then yet I don't know because on all my consoles I do research and I ask questions so I'd probably end up getting the 3000 instead.

What's stopping the Go from bricking from a bad firmware?

Why would I pay Sony $170 to get my bricked PSP fixed when I can buy a used PSP for less than a $100?

I'll stick with the old one too, unless PSN gets every single game that came out for the PSP AND we get all the great import PSP games from Japan. But those won't happen, at least not the ability to play imports on the Go. You can but getting a Japanese account, buying Japanese Sony points, etc., is a hassle. I'd rather just buy import UMDs and play them on the older PSPs.

Games only require the psp to be at a certain firmware. To download ANY game, you're psp must be at the LATEST firmware at all times. So its more likely to get bricked with the go, since you're required to always update.

Any smart person would get a 170$ new psp 3000, a 30$ 16gig memory stick, and be done with it. Best of both worlds. If you could, I'd wait until next fall. I see a 4000 coming with the screen issues fixed probably.

I never bought many UMD's because I knew at some point Sony would put more games on PSN. In my case I would get the Go. However, if you already have a pile of UMD's, it wouldn't make much sense to give up the UMD drive.

I would probably buy a 3000 Assasssin's Creed Bundle like FallofAthens. I was planning on getting that bundle and keeping my 1000, but I've decided against it until my 1000 dies on me. :P Which may never happen. I have way too many UMDs to even consider going all digital. Not to mention I am a collector of sorts and like to have physical copies of my games.

Then I'd get the PSP 3000: Assassin's Creed Bundle.

I will never buy a PSP Go. Digital Distribution circumvents the used game market, the import market, the rental market, and the stack of UMDs I already have.

I would buy another PSP 1000/2000/3000 since I have 36 UMD games. I don't use PSP for anything but gaming.

I wouldn't buy a PSPgo for even 1/2 the price of a 3000. No way am I giving up my12+ UMD's. (several of which aren't even avaliable on the PSstore yet.)

If that scenario were to happen, I will get a PSP 3000 bundle. I dont like that there is no UMD drive in the PSP Go. Im not going to have internet forever, so Id rather stay with disc based games. Right now though, my old PSP 1000 still runs great and I have no plans to get a newer PSP.
