All the 14/16 year old kiddies probably don't know what I'm talking about. But back in the day when you had Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Dino Crisis on the PS one Parasite Eve was one seriously cool horror or RPG or whatever it was. The Parasite Eve 2 was so awesome it took so long and you get like 30 different guns in that game unlike the 10 in Resident Evil or Silent Hill. SO whatever happened to them making one for PS2??? Now that PS2 is almost gone i put this on the PS3 forum.
It just slowly disappeared I guess. It's really a shame. I loved the Parasite Eve series. I hope they make another one or at least make the originals available for download to play on the PSP
Man, I remember those games like it was yesterday. Parasite Eve 1 was one of my favorite games on my ps1. I never got to beat part 2 but I played it for a while. Pre-rendered backgrounds and great battle system plus the great cinematics and scary aspects of it where great. I hope they bring a next-gen version of the games or Parasite Eve 3.

Parasite Eve 2 killed it, that's what happened. I being a big fan of Silent Hill and Resident Evil at the time decided to try PE and couldn't really get into it. The half RPG half survival horror didn't work well for me. I acknowledge its value as a great game despite never liking it. I tried PE2 and couldn't stand it, I also read/heard many others stating what a disappointment it was. If I were to wish for a followup to a popular PS1 game, it'd probably be a Final Fantasy Tactics sequel on the PS3. Not a crappy FFTA gba type game...a true sequel to the greatness that was FFT.
Yeah, both games were great. Especially for the PS1 era...imagine what they could do for the PS2/3? Anyway, this isn't what you guys were asking for, but if you look at this article:

it says that a book and a movie was released in the USA. I haven't read/seen neither, but you may want to see where the game came from...
Yea Parasite Eve was a great game, it came right after FF7 and everyone was like OMG Squaresoft you truly are amazing! They also came out with Xenogears my favorite game of all time, and Energhiez. What happened to all those? All I see Square doing now -a-days are Final Fantasy spin-offs. Too bad they have lost that variety :( Maybe they will bring it back.
OHHH BTW I am going to go load my old ps1 copy of parasite eve into my psOne and play it again :) (it looks better on that small screen attached to it, and yes I have an old gray ps1 too with games that have the giant cardbord dvd like cases from the really old school days.)
I am 15 and i remember playing this game with my sister. THE MOST HARDEST, FUN and SCARiest game ever!!!! PLEASE SONY TELL SQUARE WHATEVER TO MAKE A PE3!!! That is an awesome game. I liked each and everyone. the music was really nice and had a good beat lol.
i'm 15 and i know what you're talking about. I guess it didn't have much of a success on the PS because it probably got gobbled up by RE and SH. Good game though, while it lasted
I loved both of those games. They had GREAT soundtracks and storylines. Parasite Eve 1 &2 were better than every Silent Hill on the market today. I actually wrote square when I was 12 (I'm 18 now) for a project in my writing class. I asked them about another PE and they said that they didn't have anymore plans for the series. All their efforts at the time were put toward FFX and FFXI pre-planning.
PE2 was considered a flop. When it was released, games such as Silent Hill and Fear Effect had branched out the survival horror genre quite a bit. Square's story and gameplay just weren't enough to keep it alive.
Sadly, I doubt Square will revisit this franchise any time soon.

Fear Effect is another game that needs a sequel. Sadly, there was one in development for PS2 that was canceled :?:(
