This is morea question for allplatforms that don't use mouse.

How difficult is for you to aim in a shooter in the diferent games? One of the 1st shooter games i played for PS3 was Resistance and i found it very hard to aim and shoot and move at the same time, i couldn't play in the hardest mode. What about you, what do you think?

If I come right off of playing an FPS on PC, yeah. Its a bit difficult to get used to the sticks. But once I put in a couple hours on an easy difficulty, I get readjusted quickly. One thing I generally have to do is turn up sensitivity.

I find that shooters on PS3 suffer because of the controller. It just doesn't work well for shooters.

I share your opinion Grilled, FPS are meant to be played with a mouse. If not, why are so many expensive mouse, for PC Gaming, sure isn't for WoW or World in Conflict type of games.

It's alot easier for me to use the PS3 controller rather then a mouse and keyboard. I do love the feel of using the Wiimorw and Nunchuck for FPS games as well.

If you make a competition between controler and mouse, i think the mouse will win in any FPS game.

because they started out on pc, the ps controller never was too great for fps games, its mainly common knowledge at this point. one thing i can give xbox is that its made for fps games, anything else? no, but thats why the leftanalogis moved up.

Well I've only played FPSs on a PS3 controler and I'm use to it enough I think the controls work out just fine. However I just can't get use to KZ2, and I'm on the 7th level or something. Just can't finish it and I'm not looking forward to trying again lol. But other than... not so bad.

I've played shooters on them all, and I like the DS3 just fine. While the 360 controller is configured a little better for shooters with its moved up left stick and narrow triggers it still fails if you weapon select is mapped to that unruly d-pad. A mouse is supreme for shooters, but all you're doing is pointing and clicking. It just feels cheap to me. Either way, I like it. The trouble with DS3 is that developers try to make it too responsive. They give it only a small deadzone so as soon as you touch the stick your redicule is moving. This only makes it too touchy and hard to aim. If they gave it a broader dead zone you could actually lay into it and have enough time to stop your redicule before you pass your target. As it is I have to just kinda lightly flick the stick in the direction of my target so I don't pass it up and miss miserably. The 360 suffers from this as well in a few games, but more often I've found that its more unresponsive than it is touchy. That's just me, though. I'm so used to my DS3 that I much prefer it to the others. ;)

The PS3 controller is fine, maybe you just need more practice. A mouse and keyboard can play the fastest,

I find it easy to play shooters on the Dual shock 3. Especially Killzone 2. I am guessing it takes getting used to if you are a PC gamer.

After almost 2 years of absence in PC FPS, I actually found myself not used to using the mouse anymore. lol

It takes time. Most of my games are on consoles and I'm used to having analog sticks. Time fixes everything.

It doesn't seem that difficult for me anymore. I've been playing shooters since N64 for consoles. I only started using the mouse aim in PC FPS games around 2002 (was used to the old school Doom arrows and crtl only keys)

I kind of treat it like a M/K. Only left analog is my movement. Right analog is my "mouse" for looking/camera and (usually) R1 is my left click "Fire" button. Treat it the same way, only your confined to a smaller piece of plastic. Though it's not good for "surgical" accurate shots. You can get pretty close.

Mouse + keyboard will allways be better than a controller but when you get used to a controller it works really great, i have no complaints.

I have never really played any game on a PC, so to me its very easy to play FPS on a console.

360 is my preferred console and I find it to be great with FPS games due to the offset analog sticks, there is a similar controller for the PS3, its off brand but is the best controller for the PS3, its called the Shadow. I boughtthe Shadow at Best Buy, it is wireless and has offset analog sicks and is bigger than that tiny Six-axis.

Actually i agree with you, although i have XBOX and notXBOX360 the controllers are similar. It seems easier to play FPS with XBOX controller than with PS2/PS3 ones. I play and old XBOX game MOH and it worked really well, the PS3 controllers...well, i'll just have to get used to them

I was always a PC gamer.. got a PS3 and was amazed just how quickly it takes to get used to the controls and playing FPS games. Just practice and you'll get used to it.

well i like it the way it is on the PS3 i don't like to have it too lose because i will over shoot my target but all you have to do is change the settings on it if you think it is to slow of to fast so it would be the same on the PC or what ever you like to play it on i like to role with the default setting my self and i kill them ho bags on resistance just fine!

I love my PS3, but I much prefer shooters on the 360. I just think the controller feels tighter. I think it's the trigger buttons. They feel more stable for some reason.

I only have 1 shooter on the PS3 though, so it's not a huge problem.

If for any reason i do not adapt to the PS3 controller for shooters, is there any way of playing PS3 with a keyboard and mouse? There is an USB entrance, maybe it will work i don't know.

i personally think that the PS3 controller is amazing..it fits in the hands well..its not too chunky (like the 360 controller) .. If you find it hard to aim & move etc..either change analogue sensitivity or just give it time & you'll get used to it

i cnt even use a mouse and keyboard well lol. I'm too used to controller. But a mouse and keyboard does give you insane advantages.
