I'm looking for a good shoot'em up game for PS3 without the blood and gore. I've seen the preview of Orange box and it seems cool, but I can do without the blood and splatter. Any suggestions?

FPS? or any kind of shooter? If you want a FPS, than Battlefield: Bad Company is cool. No blood and everything is played for laughs in the campaign. It has destructible enviorments which is sweet. You can blow gaping holes in buildings, in the ground, mow down trees, smash doors, collapse farm towers etc. I had fun with it. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is a third person shooter, and has some platforming and puzzle sections. It isn't run and gun, though, more like "stop & pop". You got to use cover in that game or you are screwed. The A.I. in uncharted is insane, they work together, plan their moves and then flank you. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Resistance are also good FPS'. Vegas is tactical and requires teamwork, but Resistance is basically a "Mow down anything that stands in your path" type of game. It is a bit dated since it was a 2006 launch title but it is still fun plus it would get you ready for the sure to kick *** sequel.

The Orange Box is amazing, but yes... the original game and episodes have a decent amount of blood.
MGS4 and Uncharted will blow you away, get them now :D
Resistance is also a good bit of fun, especially with a friend.

Yeah but that game has a lot of blood, he said he wanted to avoid that. Not all people love carnage and meat splattering everywhere like you and me, LOL.
