I've been hyped for God of War III for months now, and I made it a goal to beat the first two games before I get the third game. I played through the first game, but never finished the second. I think the main reason why is because I wasn't interested in it enough to really be devoted to beating it; it just seemed way too similar to the first game (same look, same gameplay, same enemies, same nearly everything else) to hold my attention for that long. So, I played through maybe 20% of it and stopped right there.
Now God of War III has finally been released. I'm really psyched to get into the action, but I'm stuck with the dilemma: Should I finish God of War II before I start to play God of War III? I admit, it is tempting to start to play God of War III since it has just been released and it looks incredible on the PS3, but I really need help deciding whether I should finish the previous installment and see how the story continues before I start on this one.taplok
Since you already have it, finish the second so that you won't need to go back when you feel like you missed something...
I actually don't have the second game, I rented it from GameFly last summer and that's when I tried playing through it. When I felt that I didn't really want to finish God of War II I decided to return it, also partly so I could play other games in my Queue. I guess I should buy it now (it's really not that much, and plus I can get it cheap used) and play through it quickly, since you guys did a pretty good job convincing me. That's exactly what I did for Halo; I bought Halo 3 but anxiously waited a few months on playing it so I could beat Halo 2 (I didn't find much time in doing so because I was pretty busy with school, even though it's a short game). The only thing I'm worried about is how long it will take me to complete GoW II, since the first game took me forever and never seemed to end. I always like that in a game, but in situations like this where I need to finish an installment in time for the next one to come out, being rushed is really the last thing I need.
