I was about to get 60gb PS3 but in the store when I wanted to get it they sold out. I have a 7% discount there so I want to buy it from them. I was thinking about waiting but then I thought about maybe getting the 20gb version. I don't need 60gb hard drive and the mermory card slots. The only thing that I could ever use is probably the wireless adapter but I think I won't use it for some time anyway. So what do you guys think about the 20gb version? Does it look differently than the 60gb? 100 bucks is not a lot but then it's still 100 bucks. Should I wait or just go for it?

Actually, i gotta say the 20gig is a much better deal. You'll more than likely never need the memory card ports, the chrome trim isn't as pretty as the black, and that 100$ can go on a 120 gig  notebook serial ata hard drive *and laugh at the 60 gig ps3 right in the face with your extra 60gigs*. I guess the only big deal is do you want wifi, since as of now i guess theres not a way to get true wifi via usb adapter.

My view on it when i bought my 60gb ps3 was that I'm only spending $100 for 3 times the memory, memory card slots and wireless. The 3 times the memory was a good enough reaon for me to wait for a 60gb over a 20gb. Thats just my opinion though.

consider if WIFI is useful or mandatory for you, if you don't care get the 20Gb and upgrade the HDD if needed (beware you'll need a WIFI modem too)

Get the 20 if you can run cat5 to your TV and don't plan on loading tons of music or vids on it.

yeah man, 60 gig gives you wi-fi with flash card readers, memory card readers, and a chrome trim too man, but if you don't care about wi-fi and all the extras, you could buy the 20 gig for 500 dollars then spend 100 dollars on a 120 gig harddrive

it's hard to decide. many different opinions and everyone is right in some way. Of course I would like to have the full package but then the question is how much of it will I use. The second thing is that I don't know for how long I will stay in the US. It will be at least 1,5 year and then if I would go back to Europe I would probably sell it to get a new one there for the Blue Ray(different region code). This way I also don't want to put too much cash into it for now.

20GB is perfectly fine. You can upgrade the hard drive at anytime and get more space for the $100 you'd spend going from the 20GB to the 60GB.

Just go to any other store. Every store I go to has 60 GB PS3s sitting around. Target, Best Buy and Gamestop I've seen them at in the last week.
