Hey guys, I'm new on the forums and I'm looking to buy a new console. I've been a 360 gamer for a while now since a year after its release,so I've racked up quite a Gamerscore. However, when I go to college next year my brother will keep the 360, so I'm going to buy a new console. I was tempted to buy another 360 because the controller is nice and I can continue to use my old account, but then when rumor had it there could be a price drop, I started thinking about the PS3. I've never been a fan of the playstation controller, but I have a PSP, PS3 seems to have a stronger 2009 lineup with mandatory trophy support and (this is important for a college student) FREE online play. So what do you guys think? Should I stick with the 360 or make the jump to PS3? (I know this is in the PS3 forum so I'll probably get more PS3 responses, but no one I know owns a PS3 where I currently live so I want to compare the best the PS3 has to offer with my current 360 experience.)
With the line up of games coming out. You really can't go wrong. Think of that money you can save from free online also. That will get you a few big macs! Or another game lol
From my own experience, I've always owned all consoles until this generation. I started with the 360 as it was the first available. Once the PS3 released I picked mine up Day 1. Six months later I traded my 360 for a second PS3 so my brother and I could play together.

There is a chance of it, but i would still stick with the bigger ones though. With the bigger ones there gonna have a lot better cooling system. Also the 360 isnt that bad, Its just really a prefrence thing. Some people say that the controllers are better for FPS for 360. But in the long wrong you will probably save money. Free online play and internet browser. Blu-ray player, and it also has Home.
Since you are a crap box player, i suggest you to stick with your Xbox since you have all your friends on Live, gamescore and you enjoy the controller. Plus i dont want your dirty Xbox player hands on any PS3 at all.
I think that you should. The PS3 is a great overall package (blu ray, reliable, easily upgradeable hdd, bluetooth device support, internet browser, free online play, rechargeable controllers, and long term support). This year with a slew of great titles it's a great time to pick one up. The only thing that would make it better is a price drop.
Yes, buy a PS3. For the features and reliability. For College use, the PS3's upscaler will make sd DVDs look almost Blu-ray. What you save on Movies, spend on Games.
I have a PSWii60. PS3, Wii and 360. Out of all 3 Consoles I think the PS3 is by far the Best. No Reliability issues like the 360. Awesome Graphics, and Free Online. Blu-Ray, Built in Wireless. Really most of the Games for the PS3 and 360 are the Same except a few Exclusives. On the 360 I like Halo a lot, not so big into Fable or Gears of War. On the PS3 I like Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid, Resistance, Killzone2 (AWESOME).

I own all three systems and play my PlayStation3 the most. With all the games on the way this year and next, you can't go wrong with a Ps3. Plus, BluRay is 2nd to none!!
360 has only better gameplay. You have to think as a college student ps3 is a better home system and overall has better exclusives. 360 has died out with the games since killzone killed halo, and the only thing left is gears of war, which is alright. Get it since 2009 is the year of the ps3. Killzone,inFAMOUS,Uncharted, God of War 3.
You could buy the PS3 for the Blu-Ray alone, I've been looking at the prices of the Blu-Ray players and they cost more than the PS3, plus the PS3 has free online and can play games.
As a gaming machine, the PS3 and 360 are no different(other then exclusives).But as a multimedia device, the PS3 has the edge because of the Upgradable HDD, Bluray,built-in wireless adapter and webbrowser. I own both consoles so there's no biasness here!!! lol
