Should I buy a PS3 right now?

I'm wondering If I should by a playstation 3 this year. Its already 3 years old, and I'm afraid it won't be next-gen for long, and Playstation 4 is going to come out, or something. So, should I buy it this year? :D

This isn't a serious topic is it TC? I mean if that's your train of thought, why buy anything, ever? There will always be a new model coming in the future. Cars, clothes, electronics.....all get outdated.

The PS3 wasn't next gen the day it released

Dude,even if the PS4 came out tomorrow there would be strong and long support for the PS3....Sony has a good track record when it comes to supporting their older consoles.

Believe me, pS4 isn't until 2012 AT THE EARLIEST. It honestly probably won't come out until 2014

Where are you getting PS4 from? There is no information on PS4 or any other systems in the near future. All 3 have said that this generation will be longer than any other past ones. PS3 took 6 years to come out and one year to get good. Why does this question keep coming up? Look at the games, if you think you like it, buy. If you don't then forget about it. Buying a system is not a huge decision.

Even if a PS4 came out next year (and really it'd be at least a year from initial announcement, of which there haven't been any) would you buy it right away? I guess the price would be too high for you to be an early adopter. The price is now at the sweet point so it's the best time to buy. This is the price Sony wanted to hit and I doubt they'll drop it any lower for a long time.

Yup, the PS3 Slim is a great deal and there are a ton of great games either out now or coming soon for the PS3. 2010 should be a great year 8)
