Slim is PS3 re-design, I highly doubt there will be another one at all. There might be new bundles or even larger hard-drive options.

Should you buy PS3? I have no idea, that's up to you.

If you do decide to buy one however, get yourself PS3 Slim. ;)

You can find some great bundle deals this time of the year. Now is the time to buy or wait till the end of the year for other great bundles.

At the end of the day it's your money & your research which will decide whether you get one or not. I have been a PS3 owner since the day it dropped & only put myself in with the first day owners because I did my research on the system, saw what games it had that I would be interested in, saw it's capabilities & had the money. I am planning to get the new slimmed version of the "other system" as well since I have been planning to get some exclusives for it for sometime now (& I am not a fanboy). I would get both at the end of the day since I would not want to be locked down to one system if I don't have the money or don't wish to buy any upcoming games. My advice would be to do your research before juming in the ocean with an open wound.

It might be better to ask this question after PlayStation +Plus comes out...

After all, we are all waiting to see what that service offers.

Assuming you didn't watching E3...they already stated what came with the "plus" feature during the E3 Sony Conference.

I suggest a PS3 Slim, but it's entirely up to you. There are great games, and all of the older titles are now only $20 or $30, some even less than that. It's a great purchase, in my opinion.

I'm referring to the service that will be provided for the world... if you check out my blog... It shows how the PlayStation store differs in a great deal from region to region.

There are a lot of AAA titles out for the PS3 right now including God of War III and Uncharted 2, as well as pretty cool third party titles like Bad Company 2. The online is free and pretty adequate, and the slim ps3 has 120 gbs packed in.

Though both are somewhat ugly, the slim xbox 360 still has a power brick attached to it's power cord, and a standard disc drive, and ofcourse Xbox live is a paid service. Personally I think the slim xbox looks like an old PC.

I honestly don't care enough to try and convince you to get a PS3. However, if you're going to get one, buy the 120GB Slim.

No.I know a guy like you who's worrying about release of PS3 back in 2001 when he planned to get PS2. it's 2010, and he still hasnt bought a PS3 or PS2, cuz he's worryin about futurePS4. it's a console, not a stock, you buy it to play, not purchase for investment, so if you are worried about PS4, then dont buy any console at a;;.

There isn't going to be a new system released for awhile. Developers are now getting the hang of current generation systems and all three have stated that the next system is quite awhile a way. With Both Microsoft and Sony coming out with motion controllers and Nintendo just starting to ship motion plus with every system sold, the next generation I would say is 2 or maybe three years away. Even if all three show off new sets next E3, they are not coming out until late 2012. Sony has a slim already why would they come out with another one. Look at the each system's features and exclusive games and decide which ones you like better and buy that one. People come in with the question all the time. It's ridiculous. PS3 will alive and good, it's not going anywhere.

They both have plenty of games out, Pick one or eventualy both, it doesn't matter. They both have their ups and downs. You have to pay $50 for online services Microsoft but it is a better service than what Sony offers, On the flipside, Sony is catching up and there are not that many features missing from the playstation network. You get a headset with an Xbox but do not with PS3. On the flipside, you get BC with PS1 games, blu ray player and albeit rather outdated but nice anyway internet browser. Xbox can do in game music by hardware, but PS3 cannot unless the developers adds in it themselves

I don't know, do you want to buy a PS3 this summer? If yes, go ahead. If not, don't. If you're undecided, then don't.

First off, look at the games exclusive to PS3 vs 360. Get the system that seems to have exclusives that appeal more to you. Call of Duty, Resident Evil, Madden football, Bad Company 2, Final Fantasy 13, and many others are on both systems. Don't let those games make your decision. That said, I say get the PS3 Slim. I have both a launch PS3 60GB, and the latest 120 GB Slim. Why did I get the Slim? Heat reduction. I have had no problems from my 60GB, but it generates A LOT of heat which is a problem in my current living situation. I STRONGLY recommend keeping either one out in a well ventilated area (not stuffed into an entertainment center), but the Slim puts off MUCH less heat than the original model. As a side note, I have actually seen better graphic performance out of the Slim. Not so much in overall quality, but my Slim plays Split Second without any graphics glitches on the screen. My launch 60GB would always show these terrible graphic glitches every now and then on both Split Second and Bad Company 2, but nothing else.

Uncharted, Uncharted 2 (Must buy, preferably with Uncharted to be more connected with the characters.), Demon's Souls (Must buy), Valkyria Chronicles, Killzone 2, Red Dead Redemption (Multi-plat), LittleBigPlanet, 3D Dot Game Heroes (For retro fans), Metal Gear Solid 4 (ONLY if you've played the other MGS games), Katamari Forever (It's pretty out there, but very fun.), Dead Space, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion/ Fallout 3.

dumb response, there will ALWAYS be updated versions of things, while he can e enjoying ps3 for the next 5 months instead of waiting for a potential price drop which wont even happen because sony announced the ps3 move bundle price and it doesnt seem cheaper.

a slim is the best choice since they are newer

how was that dumb? he should just wait it out for the summer. aint like the prices will get higher. but yeah. get a slim for sure. they are alot safer. my 50 gig ps3 died and i would never buy a old ps3 used. someone could have done the home fix that doesnt last long. and most the time those cost more then slims if your buying em new

Stigmatist

you are asking me to not buy a ps3 without even a single reason?

I HAVE a computer, and I did my research, I am now collecting advice from this forum (and thanks to ppl who replied me) cause I need some praticle information from people

even though this question has been asked 10,000 times or whatever, time changes, questions asked in different times have different results

u may want to buy an xbox 360 when ps3 isnt out, please give some useful advice and I will be thankful :)

Buy the PS3 slim TC as there are a lot of great exclusives out UC2, DS, R&C, KZ2 and GOW3 to name a few. I would stay away from the older phat since it would likely be a refurb and thus have a bigger chance of failing. The slims that you get now should have the latest chipset compared to the slims when they first came out soit should be even less prone to overheating and be more efficient. Go ahead and join the dark side.
