Hello. I'm pretty torn between these two games. I recently got a PS3 and well I know for sure I'm buying Oblivion GOTY Ed on Sept 12th. But I need something to play in the mean time.

Due to paying for college books, I only can afford one game for now. Which should I buy? I love shooters and action games like NG so freaking much. I also find myself oftenly playing the demos for both games. I can't make up my mind :|

Is the online in Resistance still strong??

Resistance:You want to shot people and play online and....well shot people. NGS:You want to chop up people and post how good you are. So whichever sounds more interesting to you.

They both interest me on the same lv so far. That is unless someone convices me otherwise and tilts me to buy one game over the other. Thats basically what I'm looking for since I can't make up my mind.

Well if you want a FPS then definitly go with Resistance the game is great and from what I have heard the online is great too(never really played online so don't ask me about it).

And if you want a Hack n' Slash then get NGS. But if you are one of those people who frustrated easily then do not repeat do not get this game it will make you throw your controller at the wall or T.V.(not me though I know when to stop). Other than that the whole game is great(except the story).

So it comes down to your preference in games.

The preference thing doesn't really answer it. I love FPSs and action games pretty much the same. But.. an active online community can make a difference.

Also I don't get frustrated easily, atleast not with my games. I love a challenge.

To diamond2d, I believe I will be going with Resistence. Wanna check out the online before other games like Unreal come out!

Thanks for the replies guys.

Personally I think you'll spend more time with Resistance. You'll get more bang for your buck.

I have the original Oblivion, and I'm gonna get GotY version to play Shivering Isles. I've spend 256 hours on Oblivion (LVL 49). So much fun, definetly worth the money.

Ninja Gaiden is a great game, really hard though. But like someone said above RFOM is more bang for your buck, once you get good at the game the online is really fun.

Get Ninja Gaiden, it is one of the greatest games of its genre. Resistance is just a good FPS, with decent online. Not a bad game, not a great game. If you are still leaning towards Resistance get Rainbow Six instead. Much better online IMO. Rainbow six Vegas is a great online game with a huge community.

No thanks to R6 for now. I want a sci-fi fps.

I'll pick up R6 later, that is unless I like SOCOM Confrontation more. I'm a huge SOCOM fan.

I'd love it if Confrontation has Frostfire (SOCOM 2 map).

I am going to say Sigma just for selfish reasons. If it sells well then maybe we will see NG2 on the ps3.

Get Sigma because it is a classic and one of the best action games ever made. Yes, Resistance is a great game and yes there are thousands of people online, but there's this fantastic multiplayer online game called Warhawk coming out next week...AND there's Unreal Tournament 3 coming out in November. There's no game quite like Ninja Gaiden Sigma coming out in the near future other than Devil May Cry 4.

That's a hard choice because both are fun/great games(I have both)

If you like playing games by yourself, then get NGS. If you like playing games with friends or online, then get Resistence

Yes. Also be aware that when you first start RFOM it seems like any other WWII game. So, the first hour or so it kind of "good but not great." But the game gets BETTER the longer you play it!

Nike_Air

i thought it was selling well?

Personally id recomend resistance. Ninja Gaiden has some great levels but there are a few that take place in a city and they seem out of place to me. Im only on chapter 9/14 but ive pretty much stoped playing cause i cant get enough resistance online.

Those were the same two games that I was considering getting when I bought my PS3 this weekend. But I didn't have to make a choice because I had money for both games; unfortunately, the story didn't have Resistance.

It didn't really matter, I was already familiar with Ninja Gaiden, having already bought both NG and NG Black on the original Xbox. I'll just have to come back later for Resistance. And I guess that you've already decided on Resistance; I hope you like it.

tough one...hmm truthfully i play resistance more (online) but ngs is more flashy and it reminds me sooo much of dmc just because of the play style, actually its pretty much a ninja version of dmc haha, id go with ngs since it just has to last you for a couple of weeks, and it does have some replay value

I think resistance would be a safer bet... Yes, the resistance online is still very good
