So, I've been really wanting a PS3 for the longest time, its just that $300 is a little out of reach. My friend no longer has time to play PS3, so he wants to sell it. He asked me how much I'd buy it for, and I told him (depending on the condition) $200. He said $210, and its a deal.

It's the fatter version (Original I guess? I'm new to PS3s.), and it has 180gb of memory. There have been no problems with it (and I trust him, known the guy for 9 years), and he said he'd throw in the games. He has MW2, Killzone, and I think Little Big Planet. No scratches on the discs. I've seen the console, and nothing is wrong with it in my eyes.

I think honestly he just wants more than 50% of the original value back in his pocket. Should I buy it?

I say 200 or GTFO I don't like uneven number, but if he throws in those 3 games then I'd buy it no problem.

Well from what you said, I'd say go for it. Obviously the guy takes care of his stuff and knowing him for that long is also a plus. I'd say go for it.

I am assuming the backward compatible version. It has the built in wifi right? Not that cheaper 20gb version without wifi. Anyways, it has wear and tear on a what 4-5 year old system! Buying used ps3 games is one thing because blu-ray discs are very durable but I would pass on buying used electronic devices that is a few years old. Old fatty PS3 was more likely to get YLOD, uses more electric and VERY LOUD. The fan sounds like a helicopter. I don't see how people even watch movies on it. I wouldn't be surprised if your friend sells his old PS3 to you and then goes out and buys a new slim bundle with Killzone 3..... If I were to buy a used PS3, it would be a slim for around half price from someone I really trust. I would laugh if they said over $200 for a fatty.
