Recently my Xbox 360 broke for the fourth time (second time in like two months). I've already upgraded to the "more reliable" Elite with no luck and I'm starting to get really P.O'd at the 360's unreliability. So with the launch of the PS3 Slim I'm seriously considering switching over to the PS3. However, when it's working, I think the 360 is a much better console with exclusives (like Halo Gears and Forza) that I love. In addition, I have a ton of games and four controllers already for my 360. I've also heard that shooters aren't as good on PS3 as they are 360 (which I aggree with from what I've played) and I'm a huge shooter buff eagerly anticipationg the release of Halo 3:ODST and MW2 (I also greatly prefer the 360's conroller because of the triggers and how comfortable it is). On the flip side, however, is the PS3 Slim. A system that actually works would be a much appreciated, Blu Ray would be kinda' nice, and it's not like the PS3 doesn't have its own set of exclusives. So what do you think I should do: Should I get my Xbox fixed at least one more time and see what happens, or should I ditch it now and buy a PS3 even though I prefer the Xbox in just about aspect?

You could give the PS3 a try at least. If you have a HDTV you will find the PS3 goes very nicely with a HDTV when playing Blu-Ray movies and games on a nice set-up.

Get a Ps3. I used to love the 360's controller more but I currently love the PS3's controller much more. Shooters are exactly the same on both platforms, anyone who says otherwise is just wrong. Ps3 has it's fair share of great exclusives like Metal Gear Solid 4 and Killzone 2 (Look at their reviews on gamespot). And you don't have to pay for online on the Ps3. Watch porn on the internet browser (People who say they don't do that are probably lying).

Shooters themselves are fine, but some people have issues with the PS3 triggers (remedied w a 5$ add-on from Amazon). If you have four xbox controllers and a bunch of xbox games, and if you have doubts about the playstation, I might just stick with XBOX,tbh. I love my PS3 and think I made the right choice, but the differences between the two systems, when all's said and done, just aren't that huge.

I have a friend who was in the same situation, I basically told him to take a break from the 360 because of all of his frustrations with it....go ahead and get the PS3 now and get another 360 later. The system isn't bad over-all, it just has a bad company behind it. I've been fortunate because I've had mine since 06(alond with the PS3)and haven't had any issues with it.

Get the Slim and keep your Xbox. This is what I did and have no regrets. I play MLB The Show and Metal Gear on my PS, and some others like Saints Row and Batman AA and use the Box for Madden and COD, Im liking the set up so far.

....And I must also say that don't think that by getting a PS3 that you won't have any issues. It's just a more reliable system "BUT" the potential is there for failer also.(as with any electronic)

Less fanboyism makes the world a better place, but a thread like this existing outside of System Wars does not, because fanboyism sadly exists.
