lol @ the people here. if you havent finished Uncharted then don't freaking download it! worst case scenario is that Uncharted will render unplayable. and Sony already said that there are problems with Uncharted.
The people here are fanboys, DO NOT download until you finish uncharted. Or wait until there is a fix. Some say its causing problems some say its not. I have a 1st gen 40gb console, I also have Uncharted.

Stay away from it, my PS3 has had problems since I downloaded it. No Blue Ray movies play now and some of my games will not load. Remember once you download it there is no going back.
I personally dislike it, although it hasn't caused any major problems. I hate the way everythings bigger, and the gray boxes! :(
the only good reason not to download it is if you have no net connection
honestly it doesnt add that much it changes the user interface and some other stuff.....
but if you are willing to stop playing online or trying some demoes or downloading game updates or any of the other stuff the psn is used for then yeah dont download but otherwise what the heck are you waiting for just download it ......
There are a VAST number of other players who can still play Uncharted without a problem (including myself) when compared to those who cannot after upgrading to 3.00. I'd say just do it as you lose out on being able to go online and take advantage of those offerings if you don't upgrade. Is there a risk of you not being able to play Uncharted, or have some other related problem? Perhaps. If you feel comfortable waiting for a "fix" to 3.00 that really is a very isolated problem (term used loosely when comparing numbers again) and going to be very hard to pin down with so many different complaints, you could be waiting for weeks to months.
Just counting the posts and threads complaing about Uncharted problems on the Sony and here (gamespot/faqs) threads is very overshadowed by the complaints about how ugly some people think 3.00 looks. Chances are, you'll be safe.

I bought Uncharted after downloading the update... So im screwed. And i hate how Sony doesnt comment on this problem at all, given that every message board on every gaming site is exploding with complaints regarding this issue. If it were MS, both MS and Naughty Dog would have an apology and a promise to fix this issue as fast as possible on every gaming news site! Especially when the sequel is a month away!!

Lol you have no proof that only "a few" people are having problems! Go to any other forum and read all the complaints!

I don't really need proof for the point I was trying to make. I simply said that when compared to the over a million copies sold in North America alone (the number of total sales is well past that, almost 2 million but I'll use 1 to make my point), the amount of those having complaints is very low. Let's say that 10,000 people register a complaint. That's a pretty big and fair number I'd say. That's only 1% of people having problems with Uncharted after 3.00. Again, in all, the number is probably well under 1% of people having problems due to actual sales numbers, which makes finding the problem a very difficult one. My point was just play the game, chances are he'll be safe while Sony looks into it. Sure there are people having problems with 3.00 and I'm by no means saying otherwise, but it'll be awhile before Sony can find out what is causing the problem.
