People are posting on forums that it is messing up their ps3s. Has anyone performed the update and if so have theyencountered any problems?

Read the posts in entirety before getting worried. Download the update. You shouldn't have any problems.

It should be fine... If there is a major issue with the latest update... Sony would definitely alert us.

Thanks guys performed the update everythings working fine? I wonder if there is some connection between the people getting bricked etc? maybe its their region or something? I dunno

Yep go ahead-worked fine on my PS3 except that i had to re-link my dvd remote under settings cos of the restart.
