Should i finish both Gow 1 & 2 before Gow3 ?

I have the God of War collection for the PS3.. played a bit of Gow1 and i didnt like it.. and i did not feel like playing an old game.

But since Gow3's story is a follow up of Gow2... should i finish Gow2 before the third one ? Or should i really play #1 then #2 then #3 ?

Or just go to God of War 3 and pass on both prequel ? Am i going to feel lost storywise ?

You should at least play the 2nd.

The second one was really connected story wize to the first their were people like the barbarian who you didn't know unless you played the first one.

As for GOW3 you will most likely be lost because of the huge cliffhanger at the end of GOW2 and you won't understand kratos is doing what he is doing.

Its the final act in a trilogy. Its like skipping Star Wars and the Empire Strikes Back and just watching Return of the Jedi. Youll like it, but youll be lost trying to figure out whos who and why all this is going on. Theres a reason they released the GOW1&2 on the ps3, so people can get the whole story.

My brother is forcing me to play the first two before the third comes out.

Psh, "forcing," is perhaps too strong of o word considering that he is "forcing" you to play a AAA videogame series.

At first I didn't liked the game either but I forced me to play it. Believe it or not the game will grow on you and now I can't do any other thing than talk about GOW and its amazing story, gameplay, art, etc. For a PS2 game this is definitely one of the best games I have ever played in my life and I just found it a few weeks ago. Before this I was always hating on the game and saying how bad of a button masher it was.

Just keep playing the game, you will like it for sure.

GOW is the best of the series story wise.Awesome layout and journey to pandoras box.The action/fighting gets better by the next games.

I started the second one and i really like it... but not the first one, the graphics are bad and the cutscenes are terrible.

Maybe someone can just spoil me the story from the first one ?

Me, I stayed away from the collection just to make sure I'm not sick of GoW by the time part 3 came out. I did play though part 2 twiceon PS2 for the first time about a year ago then I started playing part 1 and I was pretty bored about 2 hours into it (never finished it). I am gonna get the collection after I play the hell out of part 3 just so I have all 3.

I suggest you at least play part 2 so you know what's going on. I can't wait to see how part 3 starts out after seeing the end of 2

EDIT: Also, don't judge the first game until you experienced Pandora's Temple. that place was amazing.

if you still want to play god of war 3 then i recommend that you play through both games in the collection.

I'm not skipping anything, i just dont feel like playing a game that looks worse than the PSP version. I played the PSP version and it was great !

I've just watched the complete God of War 1 story on Youtube, amazing story.. now i need to finish the second one fast !

I really recommend it. Since the story between the 3 games are connected and the 3rd one start right after the 2nd one ends. And the storyline is freaking awesome.

The second GoW hardly feels like a game from last gen. I highly recommend completing both of them so you'll know every aspect of the story, but if you can only play 1, play GoW2 and just read up on what happens in GoW1

you should play the 1st 2 considering the story is pretty much essential. If you didnt like the 1st i dont see how you could like the 3rd.......campzor

i hate when people ask this its like saying should i watch terminator before i watch terminator 2. and why do people neverwant to play the first game in the series , people did this with uncharted one , should i play the first one before among thieves. just play it in order of storyjust because its an old game and the new one is coming out doesnt mean the first one sucks
