Should I get a PS3 for promised games.

With the 40GB PS3 on it's way, I realize that owning a PS3 is now feasible. Being interested in Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, and Resistance I thought I'd be wise to get myself a little christmas present this year. However I don't want end up with a dust collector after I get bored with those games. This has left leaning more toward the Wii as, a) they have kiddie games for my little sister, and b) I know Nintendo better. So tell me some good up-comming games and don't say Killzone 2, the first one blew, so chances are the second one will. I'm not very in touch with Sony so it wont be as obvious as it is to you guys...

So far, I can only think of MGS 4, Haze, and Gradius V. I can also tell you that I don't like RPGs, Racing, Sports and most RTS games.

KillZone 2 (I know you said not to mention but this is a different game ask any magazine/online people who have had a chance to see this)

The list goes on for alot longer but you get the idea. This is just the exclusives and just the games you requested. No sports, rpg, etc. All I can say is PS3 is a great system that you can enjoy.

Right now....buy a 360 - > Wii - > PS3 in that order. Get the Wii first if Nintendo games are more important to you than all 3rd party stuff combined.

A PS3 alone and you will be a lonely gamer for a long time. Also, with the constant price drops on the PS3 (nearly $200 in a year), why rush in? Wait till it has games and you'll probably buy it for a lot less, with a bigger HD and who knows what else.

Unreal tournament 3 seems to be right up your alley.

Well, I can tell most of those games have promise. Thank god, so far things are looking better for the PS3 seeing as the only games I really wanted for the Wii were Wario Ware and RE4. Oh and for the MS fanboys who say I should get a 360, don't worry I already have one.

This november alone is going to murder my wallet.

I agree november is my month i don't think I have ever bought 4 games in a month but I am going with

Call of Duty 4, Assassins Creed, Army of 2, and Haze in November

good ones already out are Warhawk, Ninja Gaiden, Heavenly Sword, Oblivion, Ratchet and clank(today)

Future big ones, Metal gear Solid 4 (HUGE), grand theft auto, final fantasy, killzone II, Socom, White Knight story

My advice to you, DO NOT BUY something you are not sure about. You might regret it.

If you know Nintendo better, and you can share the consolewith someone else in your family, go with the Wii.

I chose PS3 for the graphics (I'm really into the visual stuff) and its backward compatibility with PS2 titles (I missed the 2nd Generation game consoles, and there are lot of PS2 games that really appealed to me). And after gaming with PS3 for 7months, I still like it very much.

So, it all comes down to what you're looking for in a console. If you doubt the future of PS3, and considers buying it only because there is a price-drop, you're still risking your money.

Yah I plan on getting a PS3 here shortly probably December (really looking forward to Devil May Cry 4). I already have a PS2 so BC doesn't really bother me, So the $399 console does suit my needs and at that price my wife won't kill me. Anyways my standpoint on Sony is the fact that I know they are looking at longevity (did I spell that right) and will be looking far beyond 2008 so I know I will be buying a console that will last for years.

Why is it so hard for people to decide on their own which games to get?

PS: Don't you love it when people on a GAME SITE FORUM ask you to tell them what games are coming out? I mean that's just pure laziness or something else.
