Well you could get it but your next purchase after that should be an HDTV. PS3/360 are not worth it without an HD display (there are ways to use cheap PC monitors).
i was dissapointed to see the ps3 only had composite cables, but i hooked them up to the 20" standard tv and VF5 looked amazing. i cant wait to get some HDMI cables to hook them up to my 1080i 37".
so yes, the ps3 looks amazing even on a small screen with standard hook ups
I have a tube TV and the graphics looks pretty good but we can't live the real feeling of the PS3 without an HDTV so save your money and buy them at the same time.
you can play the ps3 on a sd tv it still looks good i played on one for 2 months ..But i just got a 40" 1080p samsung it looks soo much better its like playing my games for the frist time getting this tv has only made me love my ps3 even more :D
