Should I get a Ps3 or a WiiU

I can't make up my mind which console would be the best bet to get. Its very likely this is the only new console I get this year .

The WiiU has games I like, for example Smash Bros , Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, and Wii games Skyward Sword, Metroid Prime Trillogy, Xenoblade Chronicles. Not really a fan of Mario games but I like most of the other nintendo franchises. It'll continue to be supported as nintendo's flagship console for at least a few years ..

However , Ps3 has a mamoth library of titles released for it, many of the are fairly cheap since its a quite old console by today's standards. I have PsPlus so I'd consistently get free games for it.

Some Ps3 games I'd pick up off the top of my head: Metal Gear Legacy Collection, Uncharted 1-3, God of War Saga, Tales of games, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5 collections, some of the japanese themed games and rpgs if they're any good. Generally the Ps3 has a lot more games I'm interested in compared to the WiiU/Wii.

Only real bad thing about the Ps3 is that its an aging console and the support for its online services and games that will be made for it will see a big drop off in 2015 and 2016 . So the WiiU definitely beats it in the future proof catagory.

Games I Currently Own:

- Ps4 : with PlayStation Plus, Dragon Age Inquisition, Injustice Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition, Velocity 2x, and Dust: An Elysian Tale.

- Ps2: With Rogue Galaxy, Dragon Quest 8, Devil May Cry 1-3, Tekken 5, Tekken Tag Tournament 1, Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence, and about 15 other games

- X Box (original): Knights of the Old Republic 1 + 2, Fable 1, Soul Calibur 2

- Games I own but don't have the consoles: Soul Calibur 4 (Ps3) , Soul Calibur 4 (360), Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (360) , Super Smash Bros Brawl (Wii), Jet Motto 2 (Ps1)

Get the Wii U. You will have access to 2 libraries not including the Eshop and the VC games. Besides if you really feel the urge you can fire up PS Now on your PS4 and you'd be set.

Get a ps3 it has collection of games

the ps3 has a much larger library, the wii-u wouldn't keep "me" occupied for very long.

the only two traditional jrpgs i've ever played have been Tales of Xillia 1 and Ni No Kuni i don't know what i think of them.

also Uncharted games i fill are overrated they aren't fun to play!

ps3 shooter recommendations

• Red Dead Redemption Game of the Year Edition
• Bioshock Collection 1-2
• Dead Space 1 (ignore dlc)

if you do get a wii-u hope you enjoy Bayonetta 2, the first one was really good!

• Wind Waker HD also looks really good

There is Bayonetta 1 for PS3, may not be easy to find a NIB but you can easily find a used one in e-bay.

I dunno - I'd favor the Wii U given that you have a PS4, PS2, and XBox. Although the PS4 doesn't currently play PS3 titles, and the PS3 has a much larger library, you'll DIVERSIFY your library more by getting a Wii U. If you didn't have any systems then I'd go PS3 between the two. But just thinking about what will expand your horizons more.

I have them all. I would recommend you look at the libraries, but the new machines like the Wii U obviously have a much smaller library.

Statistically, the PS3 would be my vote...plus, the Wii U hasn't had a major price drop in a while so I predict that's going to happen sometime this year. That's another reason to wait, to get a better deal on a Wii U that people like me who paid full price. You waited this long, why not save a lot of money...

BTW: My track record on price drops and other industry stuff is very good. If you wait, I think in a few months at E3, Nintendo will announce a price drop and new Wii U bundles.

PS3 hands down! Sell your PS4 and get more PS3 stuff...I bought a PS3 last year, haven't jumped to current gen, not planning on doing it either....PS3 all the way...2015, 2016 and 2017 might be the final few years of the PS3...but we'll still get great games on it...and there's a huge backlog of games!

Yeah, a PS3, pretty easy answer here unless you get a 360 or PC down the line.

I ended up getting Ps3 and WiiU about 1 month ago and a New 3DS XL 3 weeks ago. I'm set for buying video game consoles for the rest of this year @.@

Get the PlayStation 3 since this is the best time to catch up on games you have missed. Right now PS3 games are dirt cheap since people are upgrading to PS4. The Wii U is good also but PS3 has a ton of games. There are good deals on PS3 500GB consoles which include a Game or two. The amount of games available to play is the reason to pick PS3 over the Wii U.

Wii U. Splatoon is coming! The best game on PS3 is on PS4 anyway in TLOU.

Why would you get a PS3 when you have a PS4? I'd get the WiiU then even though I think it's a lame console

@SolidTy I know, but still that makes no sense to me. Why get the older version of your console for a handful of games that will probably be available to download on PS4 at some point if they aren't already. I have a PS3 and I realize it has a lot of good titles but idk it's one thing to get a PS3 and then a 4 but doing it in reverse seems kind of stupid to me unless you can snag one for like $100 or less... he said it himself it's an aging console so you're basically buying something that in the very near future is not going to have new games for it by late 2016-17 is my guess.

If it's worth it to you @nozakuboy09 to buy it for old games, I guess go for it. A WiiU is at least a different experience with different games. The PS3 is a solid console, just seems silly to me to get it if you have a PS4. If you can find one for cheap though, go for it

@nozakuboy09: I still have my PS3, don't use it for much anymore but I still keep it for certain gems that have not come out on PS4. Dragon's Crown to me is still one of the best games I've ever played. Little Big Planet 2 reminds me how much the PS4 game sucks. And that's only scratching the surface of games to enjoy.

WiiU. . . I also 'had' but sold it due to disappointment. Overall I just didn't like the gamepad and its primitive interface and dreadful loading screens. I got the system for Bayonetta 2, kept it for Donkey Kong. The system has some great games. But not enough to overlook the flaws. I recommend if you want Nintendo games? Get a 3DS, or save up for the Switch.

WiiU will be the worst purchase decision you could make with the options given to you.
