Just get it now because even if you wait until MGS4, FF13, or some other big name titles come out, the price of the PS3 will still be the same and it'd make no difference if you waited. If you get it now, you could play the good games that are out already like Resistance and Motorstorm and get games that are coming out soon too. Also, you could play PS2 games on the PS3 so if you're planning to pick up a PS3 eventually, you might as well get one now.
i ran out and got one yesterday! its really fun. online is not much to write home about but... the system it self is sharp i whent out and really got it yesterday cuz i still wanted a PS3 with the PS2 hardwear in it.

If you have both the Wii and the Xbox360, I would hold off with the PS3 unless you are currently bored. Motorstorm might give you at max a few weeks of gameplay before you get bored...same with Resistance. But if you have nothing else to do with that money, then go for it.
This comming from a man (I assume; you never know, as it is the internet after all :) ) who has 360 reviews and raves posted all over his GS profile.
I would suggest that you take his opinion with a grain of salt and doubt that he even has a PS3. Please keep trolling to under bridges in the "System Wars" forum.
Oh, and Resistance kicks some serious A#$ - I don't even like the FPS genre. Genji is kinda fun too (just try not to think to much about the plot :) ) If you get a PS3 pick up Resistance for sure.
I bought mine last Sunday and I love it. It is so much fun and Resistance is a great game. But you said you have a Wii and a 360 so if you are having fun with them then just hold off for a while but if your bored with them get it. I had a 360 but was very bored with it and sold it to a friend. It's up to you.
I would say get it why does it matter if you wait? Well if there isnt any games that you want to play then go ahead and wait but i think you should get one it cant hurt.
im having the same problem deciding. I can afford one at launch and i dont think theres gonna be a price drop this year in europe anyway, but the games out atm dont really interest me. Im not getting an hdtv until september time so im thinking is it really worth it right now. Aslong as i have a ps3 and an hdtv when mgs4 comes out thats all that matters to me

If you already have a wii and a 360 you don't need it. Trust me I had all 3 post gen consoles and they get old quickly. They also cost a lot of money to buy games for all of them and MOST of the games already are on all three systems.

thats how i feel i want the PS3 but i dont want to have all 3 systems, im thinking about selling the wii since i have no games for it. But im not sure yet
maybe you want it for the blue-ray player as a future investment if you don't have the xbox hd drive as well a great gaming console the games coming out on it are better versions of the xbox 360 games splinter cell DA, oblivion and others and some fine addition's of there own games cant wait for lair and the next gran turismo i have a 360 myself and i am getting bored of it pgr3 doesn't have the same magic as gt has

well i'd say get it later, cause there are no games, and i'm pretty well bored of my ps3, but get it now, cause there are some good games, like COD3, i play that game all the time. the price wont change, but if u see one, buy it

With 65nm chips, the console will generate less heat and noise. Not that it's really a problem with the PS3 though, but still, like I've said, there are no must-own title available for the PS3 as of now. Sure, there is Resistence, but it's not like when Halo first came out.

Actually, you never said if you have an HDTV. Personally, I'd say HDTV makes gamming better, and I highly reccommend getting one (if it's in your budget).
One factor you may consider is if you have psone or PS2 games in your collection... right now the USA PS3 has hardware backwards compatibility which is verrry good (95% plus compatibility) but in Europe they have software compatibility (around 70% compatibility). They MAY announce the software only PS3's for the USA this year so pay attention to news if they do.... If so get one now!
Good games to get for PS3:Â Resistance, Motorstorm, Virtua Fighter 5 (theres your three) also Oblivion (if you dont have for 360) and all the EA and 2K sports games.

Check it...I have both like many, the 360 & ps3. I rarely play the ps3 bcuz the lack of games. All game for ps3 are currently playable on the 360 except for Resistance and Motorstorm. Both are decent games but not worth the invest right away. It will boil down to what you want out of a console. The ps3 is still taking on its shape and mold...right after the 360 bcuz its basically copying what MS is doing for the 360. The 360 has a better online community, it really feels like your in touch with your friends or people you just met. its very easy to navigate and understand. The ps3 is a limited machine as we speak but sure to improve in the months or year. you don't even have to play a game on the 360 and still kill an hour or two browsing the marketplace downloading games and movies, whatever. the digital world is right there. So its all on preference at this time for you, but your not missing anything now with the ps3. Bottomline, just wait unless you wanna be Mr. Me Too!! Oh, I forgot, if your tv doesn't have 720p support, just abort the whole idea until you upgrade your tv. Most games for ps3 are supported by 720p only and really looks like trash tv or your vcr player....480p graphics suck on ps3, looks like ps2
