Hey guys. I was wondering if it's a good time to buy a PSP. The best one I saw so far was a Piano Black one which cost about 8495 pesos (197 dollars). I think it has games and accessories already. I can't afford a Vita right now or a 3DS 'cause I don't have the money :(. What do you think, SP?

You're a Filipino? Anyway, no. It costs like 100 dollars only, so try looking somewhere else. Try checking Data Blitz.

Bro, it is at Data Blitz. I'm not sure if that's the price though, since I saw a tag in their window.

It's worth getting a 3000, but not for that price...

I got one for $130US with Grand Turismo, MLB 11 and a 2GB card and think it's amazing.

Although you gotta realize you're getting old soon to be replaced technology. But it's still aweseome.

The memory cards are being sold cheap now that Sony cameras take SD cards - you should be able to find an 8 GB card for around $20.00US.

Don't settle for a 1 or 2GB card as you'll likely be downloading a lot of games from PSN, maybe in anticipation of getting a Vita and tranferring them over.

The biggest problem I have with it is the sound of video - games and music are okay but the minute you play a movie, you have to crank up to volume to full to hear anything properly and that's with headphones. So if you're buying the PSP to watch movies, be warned.

The standard battery life is pretty crappy too, but Sony sells a 2200mAh extended battery and you should be able to find that for around $20.00US.

The unit also runs off an AC adapter that you get when you buy the PSP so if you're close to wall power outlet and don't mind the cord, battery life may not be an issue if you're just going to play it at home or work.

I would really just wait (and save up) for the Vita (or 3DS if you like that). It´s the new generation and you most likely want one of them one day, and then you just spent more money....

But... the PS1 was around from 1995 all the way to 2006, and the PS2 is still being made. Poor example to show the PSP will be dead

I'd say save up for the Vita. All PSP games that can be downloaded are compatible with the Vita anyway. The PSP is old and outdated technology. Not to mention UMD's. :x

If you're REALLY desperate to get a handheld, I'd get a GBA or a cheap DS model. There are loads of games for those.

But I really think you should wait and save up for the Vita. It doesn't come out yet anyway, so there's still time to save money. I think it'll be worth it. :)
