i have my ps3 hooked up to a 26in samsung LCD screen and i play most of the games on 720p. and recently i got uncharted and the game is able to play up to 1080i and my screen supports that resolution. so im wondering which resolution is better?gin_maiden
..............Guy, are you serious? Why wouldn't you try it on 1080i if you had 1080i?

I think it's all personal preference. I prefer 720p over 1080i because my HDTV seems to have "ghosting" and doesn't look great with fast paced-type games when in 1080i. Although sometimes I have my PS3 set to 1080i for upscaling DVD movies and I'll forget to change it back to 720p, then play a game, and I won't really notice much difference.

Because LCD screens dont handle interlaced (i) as well as CRT TVs. So you actually get flicker and sometimes you can see lines where the video is interlaced durring fast screen movement. LCDs were meant to be Progessive scan. Besides, at 26" 720 and 1080 isnt going to make much difference. If you had a 52" TV it would, but not on something you are using. Trust me, dont use interlaced on an LCD, its not the optimal video signal.so should i use 1080i for movies and 720p for games??gin_maiden
720p for both. This is assuming your tv has a native res. of 1366 x 768.
so should i use 1080i for movies and 720p for games??gin_maidenYeah thats what we're implying you do.
