Should I restart demon souls?

I started as a wanderer purely because I liked the look of the sword... and have found the game to be especially difficult so far - should I have started as a royal? I've just reached the first (proper) boss after hours of annoyance trying to get there. would it be worth starting again as a different class or will it not be long until classes become irrelevant? Thank you

I done this, love that weapon. just finished 1-1. any specific places I should go to next? I sort of just lost all my souls in the 4th place I think... i'm also finding my armor too heavy - can't really manuever much and it's kinda difficult to do anything
